Dr. Jacobs Naturals – Liquid Soap Review and Giveaway
About 20 years ago I was suffering from some severe skin issues. This was very out of the realm of normal for me since I had made it through puberty with little acne, but plenty of awkwardness.
I was truly at a loss as to how to handle this new physical curve ball I had been dealt when my father offhandedly suggested that I try castile soap. As I went to the local drug store I was filled with a mix of excitement and trepidation – what if this literally made my problem worse. I purchased the bar and when home to see if this was the answer i needed. After about 3 days I had my answer – my skin was totally clear!
I questioned my father how he had this profound piece of knowledge, and asked if other people knew this secret. It was with a small chuckle and a exhale that he broke the news that, yes people did know about this miracle bar.
As I aged I have found the acne I get is more related to the food I eat and my current stress levels, and because of this I am a fan of castile soap now more than ever. One of my priorities when I attended the Natural Products Expo was to look for more castile soap based soaps. As I came upon Dr. Jacob Naturals I knew I wanted to sample and try their soaps.

Almond Honey Liquid Soap – 16 oz: Let me start by saying that I loved the scent of this soap. Not only did it make me smell good but it also made by bathroom smell good. This soap is versatile and can be used as a body wash, shampoo and shaving lather. I loved the way this rinsed right off my hands and left them feeling clean, smooth and refreshed.

6 pack assortment of 2 oz soaps in Rose, Sweet Tea Tree, Wild Mint, Lavender, Citrus and Shea Butter. I loved all 6 of these soaps, but I have say my favorite was the Lavender. Each of these are mild in scent and are not overpowering. Each of these came in 2 oz sizes which make them perfect to use in the shower and switch them out as my mood dictates.
Similar to the Almond Honey Soap, all of these scents can be used as laundry detergent, dish detergent and even household cleaners. Right now, it’s Dr. Bronner’s. I haven’t heard of Dr. Jacobs until now. Apparently, it’s not sold anywhere around me. I would be curious to try it though!

The body shop – pink grapefruit is my fave, or if I can afford to indulge myself, it’s Caswell Massey goat milk & honey- it just feels amazing.
I don’t have a favorite brand of soap. Right now we’re using softsoap a lot. I prefer fancier soaps though.

I like Dr Bronner’s Peppermint Soap, which this looks very similar to. Dr Bronner’s bottle gives you something interesting to read on the potty, though 🙂

There is an open air market here in town that sells dragon’s blood soap. It smells just like incense!
