Simple Mills: Chocolate and Vanilla Frosting Review and Giveaway
As I have gotten older I have realized that there are few things that I can make better than I can buy. One of these items is baked goods – almost everything I make tastes better than what I can otherwise purchase.
Upon this revelation I immediately went to the store and I began stocking up on baked goods. I purchased flour, sugar, baking powder and extracts of every flavor. I excitedly came home and decided to make brownies. I was under the belief that just simple plain brownies would suffice, but I was quickly informed that frosted brownies are better.
I have mentioned in the past that one of my favorite things as a blogger is when I company that I have worked with in the past, increases and expands their product offerings. Since I suddenly found myself in a frosting-less situation I inquired to Simple Mills so that I could sample their new frosting’s and when I reached out they were generous enough to send me a their newest sweet offering.
Let me start by saying that the products featured in this post were provided to me free of charge courtesy of Simple Mills. This post may have affiliate links but this in no way will influence the review to follow and all opinions are my own.
The first flavor that I sampled was the Simple Mills Chocolate Frosting made of Coconut Oil and sustainable Palm Shortening. The frosting is a nicely whipped frosting that has a creamy texture that’s easy to spread. I read that this was sweetened with Monk Fruit which is a subtropical melon.
I also received the Simple Mills Vanilla Frosting that is also made of Coconut Oil and sustainable Palm Shortening. This frosting is made of only 8 ingredients including Organic Palm Shortening, Organic Powdered Sugar, Organic Coconut Oil, Organic Tapioca, Vanilla Extract, Sea Salt, Organic Rosemary Extract (for freshness) and Monk Fruit Extract.
Each of Simple Mills Frostings and other products are certified gluten-free and non-gmo project verified. Each is Paleo-Friendly, Grain Free, Soy Free, Low Carb, Gluten-Free and Non-GMO. These would go perfect with the Simple Mills line of brownie and cake mixes.
These are simple and tasty frostings that will add a sweet punch to any baked good. I used the chocolate to frost some brownies and it was not only tasty but filling and sweet. These are simple frostings that I know you will love!

I prefer to do it myself because I enjoy baking.
I prefer pre-decorated but my husband prefers my homemade and decorated cakes.
It depends! Often times I prefer my own, but there are some things I like better pre-made (very few.. it just depends!) For example, a local bakery makes these peanut butter/chocolate ganache cakes and I just can’t make anything as pretty or as good as that cake!
I like to do it by myself because I love to bake, thank you so much!
I like to bake and everything tastes better when you put a pinch of your own love into the batter.
I prefer to do it myself because I am an artist and love to decorate!
I’ve been wanting to learn how to decorate real nice myself!
Premade, i’m not a good baker.
I am not very good at decorating so if it’s for something special I buy cakes but I also love to make them.
I like to frost the cake myself and put sprinkles or nuts on it. Nothing fancy.
I love to decorate a cake myself. Its much more fun & I can make it the way I want.
I love decorating cakes myself.
I prefer the pre-made ones because they are often more moist and fluffy than the ones that I make.
Really I like to purchase and prepare cakes too. However, it’s cheaper to make them myself so I usually bake myself.
Always decorate my own! It’s just makes the cake more special, imho.
I usually purchase it because I’m too lazy to make a cake but I do make brownies and frost them or eat the frosting right out of the can Sugar addict.
I like to make a cake when I have time, but if I am busy then I just will purchase one ready made.
Decorate it myself as a general rule. Seems more personal.
I like to decorate a cake myself. It makes me feel proud of my work when it turns out pretty.
I prefer to decorate a cake myself because I enjoy baking and being creative! thanks
I like to make my cakes and frosting from scratch. I just think it tastes better, but only if I have time.
Both, really. My homemade cakes are best, but sometimes a plain old bakery birthday cake is good!
I enjoy baking and decorating cakes myself. Some months I make several to serve at pot luck dinners.
Ohhhhhhh that looks KILLER!!!!!!! MMMMMMMM
If it’s for a special occasion I will get one made. If it’s just because then I make it myself.
I like to decorate some of them myself but if its an important event I buy it because they always look so much nicer than mine.
I love baking but am not a good decorator, so I normally buy cakes from the store!
I like to bake and decorate cakes myself. Our daughter has a treenut/peanut allergy and we know the homemade ones are safe for you. I also enjoy doing it. 🙂
i prefer my mom to make cakes she makes them from scratch
I prefer to buy pre made cakes because it saves time
I prefer to make the cake but have my daughter decorate them.
If I have the time, I would like to bake. Free moments would be a deciding factor.
I buy them premade.
I get them premade.
I make my own because I eat gluten free, non hydrogenated, and vegetarian, so it would be hard to find what I need unless I lived in a big city, which I don’t.
It depends on the occasion. Special occasions I have someone else decorate. Otherwise, I like to decorate ones for at home.
I enjoy baking so I do it myself
I like letting my niece make a cake shes 13 and darn good at making a cake she loves decorting it herself frosting and all.
I like to decorate myself so that I have more control over the ingredients I use
I am not a baker of any kind.
Thanks for the contest.
