Dr. Sharp Natural Oral Care: Family Package Review and Giveaway
When I was a child I literally had to many teeth in my mouth. As I got older the teeth began growing out of my gums. I am lucky in that my father spoke to a pediatric dentist and began a path that would ultimately straighten my teeth. The first step was get that tooth in the gums down to where the other teeth were. This was painful and slow, but over time it came down. Once that tooth was in place then the focus shifted to all the other teeth and straightening them It was estimated I would be in braces about 4 years, and it ended up being about 4 years and a couple of months.
I remember going to the dentist that day in 1992 and finally having my braces removed. My tooth felt naked after over 4 years of having metal on the front. My orthodontist kept photos of recently “un-braced” patients, and I will never forget the pride I felt to be on that wall.
Ever since that wonderful Spring day my oral care has been a priority. When I attended the Natural Products Expo one the items I discovered was Dr. Sharp Dentistry’s line of oral care products.
The products featured in this post were provided to me free of charge courtesy of Dr Sharp Dentistry/Innovative Integrated Solitions. This post may contain affiliate links, but this in no way influences the review to follow.
As I was walking around, I came upon Dr. Sharp Dentistry’s line of oral care products. After the show I reached out and they sent me the Family Package to review.
The Family Package contains (1) – 3oz Fresh Mint Toothpaste, (1) – 3oz Kids Wild Berry Toothpaste, (1) – 9.3 fluid ounce Fresh Mint Mouthwash and (1) – 38 yards of Green Tea Mint Teflon Dental Tape. Each of the toothpastes require a pea size amount to make a big impact that will leave your mouth feeling clean and fresh. The Fresh Mint is a subtle mint flavor that really once it is out of your mouth, does not linger, but leaves your teeth feeling clean. The Wild Berry was a subtle berry flavor that will make brushing fun for children of all ages. The Fresh Mint Mouthwash is clear and does not sting as much as typical mouthwashes. The flavor was not a strong mint, but still gives the overall flavor that pleasantly lingers. The Dental Tape was easy to use, and slid easily in and out of my teeth.

I remember that April day as if it was yesterday, and that was the day that I took an active care and concern for my oral health. I realized that these teeth that were now straight were the only teeth I would have for the rest of my life – I had to take care of them!

I was lucky and never needed braces 🙂
I have never had them
I don’t understand why you would want toothpaste without fluoride, what is the advantage?
I will be honest, I wondered the same thing, which lead me to a little research. Here is what I learned – that fluoride is a natural occurring mineral in all water sources. Depending on your current fluoride intake, you can use a toothpaste without fluoride. Mainly this would apply to children under 2 (until they are able to spit something out, such as toothpaste), if there are allergies present and if your dentist and you determine this is the best course of action. I also learned that there are instances in which fluoride has been links to osteoporosis, thyroid problems, endocrine issues & some cancers. I also learned that fluoride is in the same family as chlorine, bromine and iodine.I get a ton of fluoride from my water intake so it allows me to try more natural products.

No, I never had braces. Thank goodness.
My family has been blessed with straight teeth, my parents, my siblings & my husband & I have never needed braces. Luckily my daughter (just turned 2) is already obsessed with brushing her teeth, so I’m hopeful that we have passed on good teeth to her. Since I was pregnant for basically 2 years (I had 2 girls within 17 months), my teeth aren’t as strong as they used to be, but I am slowly building them back up.
