Crafted Gluten Free – Ultimate Cookie Box Review and Giveaway
When I was a young child I was called the “Cookie Monster” due to my love of cookies.
As I got older I moved on from store-bought cookies and began to make my own cookies. I would have slumber parties with my best friends and I would make cookies. I was recently gifted my teenage era cookbook, and each chapter is pristine and perfect – well not the cookie chapter. Even 20 years later there are dollops of butter grease and remnants of dried flour on those pages.
Now that I am even older, I find it easier to purchase pre-made cookies due to time constraints and adult responsibilities. I have difficulty finding a cookie as good as I can make. Since I have this insatiable urge for cookies it seemed only natural to review Crafted Gluten Free’s Ultimate Cookie Box.
This was not the first Crafted Gluten Free review I have done, as I have reviewed the first monthly box, but it was one of the sweetest.
Included in Crafted Gluten Free’s Ultimate Cookie Box were the following items –
Bakeology Snickerdoodles Cookie Bites: Throughout my life I have tried to make and perfect the Snickerdoodle. After many years I can finally say that I have found a cookie as good as image a Snickerdoodle should be. These cookies have a dusting of cinnamon and a hint of nutmeg and these buttery cookies almost melt in your mouth. I was sad when I realized the bag was empty and there were no more Snickerdoodles.
Goodie Girl Midnight Brownie Cookies: Regular readers will know of my love of Goodie Girl Cookies and my quest to spread the “right amount of wrong”. I am sure you know when you bake brownies and the sides get a little overcooked – that is these cookies with a crunch. These will leave you wondering where the bag’s contents went – wait, maybe that is just me?
Salem Baking Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookies with Jacobsen Salt Company: Let me just say that despite my cookies arriving in pieces instead of entire portions, these were still really good cookies. I used the enclosed salt and sprinkled it over my cookie pieces and all of a sudden the subtle caramel jumps to the forefront in the battle of flavor profiles. I loved these and they ended up being the perfect topping on ice cream.
Emmy Chai Spice Macaroons: These are Vegan, Raw and Gluten-free cookies. These are small kosher cookies that are distinctly Chai Spice flavored. Jason has a new love in the form of Chai Tea Lattes so he was eager sample these Chai cookies. While not as good as a Chai-tea latte they would satisfy that hankering for flavor.
Debbie Kay’s Kitchen – Sugar Cookie Mix: I love a simple sugar cookie mix and with more and more of my friends and family turning down the gluten-free path it is nice to have more options. Jason and I are members of a large extended family, and often times gatherings are “bring your own ….” and I love to bring cookies, but hard with some many sensitive family members. It is great that I have a homemade, gluten-free option for my family!
Scratch and Grain – Chocolate Truffle Cookie Mix: I had never seen something like this until this box and I am not sure how I got through my adolescence without them. This is a numbered kit that lays out when in the recipe you add each numbers. The instructions are easy to follow and this makes a batch of cookies. I plan to share these boxes with my family members as it would be a great way to teach children about adding ingredients at the right time.
Cybeles Oatmeal Raisin Cookies: These were so good, a little chewy and a lot delicious. I am not really sure what happened to these, I remember opening them to sample and take the photos, I remember Jason offering me one, and then I remember seeing one single cookie left – then it was gone. Did I mention that this all occurred in a 24 hour time frame? I think that says volumes about this cookie!
Jennie’s Backpack Snackers – Coconut Macaroon Cookies: The first thing I should share is that these are the perfect backpack snacker being individually wrapped. While i am not the biggest fan of coconut, this was a flavorful cookie that any coconut fan would love. The individually wrapped cookie makes snacking on the go an easy option.
