Mini Monthly Box of Awesome – March 2017 Review

Mini Monthly Box of Awesome – March 2017 Review

As I have aged, I have learned that random mail can be unexpected but also surprising! Sadly as we age the happy surprised are minimized and they are replaced with predictability and routine. Surprises are in less demand as the days pass, but they are nice to recieve.

The easiest way to get monthly surprise is when you sign up for a Mini Monthly Mystery Box of Awesome by That Daily Deal.com you are able to get a positive and happy box. Each month, similar to the regular Box of Awesome that is offered, there is no theme is chosen. Instead of theme a random selection of 2 – 3 gender neutral items are included in this white package.

Oogie’s Gourmet Popcorn Review

Oogie’s Gourmet Popcorn Review + Giveaway

As I have mentioned in the past we are a snack house – we love our snacks. The problem is that many times we are looking for a semi-heathy snack that we can eat without our hands being dirtied or full.

In our house, both of us spend many hours at our computers, and since we do not like to get our keyboards dirty, popcorn is often the snack that we end up choosing.

The problem is that since we eat so much popcorn, we grow tired of the flavors typically available. When I recently came across a company called Oogie’s Gourmet Popcorn and saw their collection, I was interested to give these different flavors a try.

Salba Chia: Dark Chocolate Chia Seeds Review

Salba Chia: Dark Chocolate Chia Seeds Review & Giveaway

As a review blogger I am always on the hunt for new and innovative products that combine health and sweetness. Hands down one of my favorite sweet things is Dark Chocolate. That is not to say that there is anything wrong with milk chocolate but there is something decadent and luxurious about this darker chocolate.

When I attended the Natural Products Expo in March, one of the things that I discovered were Dark Chocolate Salba Chia Seeds from Salba Smart Natural Products. I have been thinking about these ever since, and I knew that full review was needed.

Make It By Hand Book Series Review

Make It By Hand: New England Paperscapes and Vintage Coloring & Craft Book Review and Giveaway

There is something about starting with a simple book and being able to create a whole city or town. When I was young I had a book that I could punch out shapes and images, that after colored and assembled, would create a whole cityscape.

As much as fun as I now remember that book was, honestly I had forgotten about it until I received the Make it By Hand Paperscapes and Vintage Coloring Book for review.

Cremo: Sandalwood Shave Cream Review

Cremo Company: Sandalwood Shaving Cream Review & Giveaway

When I had the opportunity to try Cremo Company and their men’s and women’s shaving creams, I instantly liked them. Each of these products are great, and live by the message on the bottle with a little goes a long way.

When I saw that Cremo had released a new scent of shaving cream I knew I had to give it a try. The thing that makes these shaving creams different are that they are concentrated shaving creams, which means less of the product is needed to give a good result.

On April 22nd we celebrate Earth Day, and a little insect that makes a big impact on the environment are honey bees.  From the methods of communication to the process of making honey, there is no doubt the bee is complicated and fascinating creature.

There are companies that sell honey based products but not like Savannah Bee Company. The thing that makes Savannah Bee different is that they are not only making the products but also raising and caring for the bees that provide them the honey and royal jelly used.

Namaste Foods: Brownie, Bread Crumbs and Egg Replacer Review

Namaste Foods: Dark Chocolate Brownies, Italian Herb Bread Crumbs and Egg Replacer Review and Giveaway

In the infancy of my review blogging I had the opportunity to try many good companies.

When I attended the Gluten Free and Allergen Friendly Expo in San Diego I had the opportunity to meet the people behind the company that I had the chance to review in those early days.

One of my favorite things is to see companies expand their product lines and offer a wide selection of products in their respective categories.

Namaste Foods has a line of foods that are free from the top 8 allergens typically found in other foods and contain no wheat, no gluten, no corn, no soy, no potatoes, no dairy, no casein, no peanuts or tree nuts.

John Paul Pet: Tea Tree Shampoo + Conditioning Spray Review

John Paul Pet: Tea Tree Shampoo and Conditioning Spray Review + Giveaway

A couple of months ago I noticed that Murfee had some white flakes as we brushed his tail, which was not a new issue as we had encountered this same issue with Maggee. Being the ever diligent cat owners we looked online for solutions. After what seemed like hours of reading we came to the conclusion that he, like his sister, has dry skin.

As luck would have it, shortly after I discovered this issue, I had the opportunity to review another John Paul Pet Duo. Since I had heard great things about the natural benefits of tea tree, I wanted to go a natural way to solve this persistence flake issue. Continue reading

Dancing Deer Baking Company: Gluten Free Molasses Cookie Review

Dancing Deer Baking Co.: Gluten Free Molasses Cookie Review + Giveaway

There is a saying that references molasses that goes “slow as molasses in January”. While the origins of this saying date back to the Great Molasses Flood of January 15th of 1919, when over 2.5 million gallons of molasses from a 58 foot tank broke loose and caused a tidal wave of molasses of over 30 feet that tore the steel supports off the nearby elevated train structure.

Almost 100 years later, the term is stil used as is molasses. This simple by-product is made from refining sugarcane and/or sugar beets into sugar. The result is a slow pouring sweet syrup that when added to cookies, makes a chewy, sweet and delicious cookie.

When I recently received a press release that the Dancing Deer Baking Co had released a molasses cookie that was gluten free, I knew I wanted to give it a try.
