Homemade Cleaners: Quick-and-Easy, Toxic-Free Recipes to Replace Your Kitchen Cleaner, Bathroom, Disinfectant, Laundry Detergent, Bleach, Bug Killer, Air Freshener and More… Review and Giveaway
We are a cat household, and we are a cat household that allows the cats almost anywhere in the house that their little paws can take them. Due to our somewhat liberal, and at times foolish, rules we hate using harsh chemicals to clean the surfaces that we share with the cats.
I never really had a real awareness of the harsh chemicals until I realized that the products were transferring onto the cats paws and how incredibly deadly this can be for them. I decided that I would make my home, and surfaces, a safer environment for all breathing creatures. I have read over the years that by using certain essential oils and baking soda, borax or any of the other natural ingredients available you can create some amazing cleaners.
Naturally, when I had the opportunity to review and giveaway a book that covered this concern, I had to accept. I received for review and giveaway a copy of Homemade Cleaners Quick-and-Easy, Toxic-Free Recipes to Replace Your Kitchen Cleaner, Bathroom, Disinfectant, Laundry Detergent, Bleach, Bug Killer, Air Freshener and More… by Mandy O’Brien and Dionna Ford.
Homemade Cleaners Quick-and-Easy, Toxic-Free Recipes to Replace Your Kitchen Cleaner, Bathroom, Disinfectant, Laundry Detergent, Bleach, Bug Killer, Air Freshener and More… by Mandy O’Brien and Dionna Ford is full of recipes to make everything your home could possibly need using simple items you can purchase in the stores.
The recipes in this book not only has recipes but also provides a little information that is not necessary but is nice to know about each of the ingredients in the book. The chapters are broken up from simple cleaning, mirrors and glass, flooring and walls, in outdoor living areas, and every surface and location in between. Other topics such as water temperature, alternatives to paper towels and essential oils.
Some of my favorite recipes were the Spider Spray, Wool Dryer Balls, Simple Citrus Dish Soap (only 3 ingredients), Crayon Remover and Chocolate Remover to name a few. My favorite thing is that each recipe contains few ingredients and is simple to make.
If you are looking for a simple book that contains simple recipes, this is a must have for your home! I can tell you that after seeing how simple, natural and pure these recipes are I will make my own and avoid purchasing the store bought equivalent again.
