Cat Lady Box Monthly Subscription Review and Giveaway – August 2015
I have said in a previous review that just because I have copious amounts of photos on my phone I am not a crazy cat lady – I retract the part of that statement that states the word crazy. I hereby admit I might be a cat lady but not a crazy one.
Let’s take a closer look at the facts in front of me. I love anything feline themed extending to the items I collect and what I decorate my environment with, but this does not make me crazy. While it might be a fact that I have more pictures of Maggee and Murfee then I do of family, friends, nature and review product photos combined, this does not make me crazy. If I can work my cats into casual conversations (or reviews) I will, but this does not make me crazy. What truly makes me crazy is the term “Crazy Cat Lady” – we are simply “Cat Ladies”. It is my belief that just because we love our cats that does not mean that we are crazy, obsessed maybe, but not crazy.
In support of cat ladies everywhere crazy or no, I am happy to say that this is the third month of Cat Lady Box and it is just as good as the previous month I reviewed, (see that review here). The first thing that I noticed was that in the previous months the logo had been hand stamped on the box, therefore making the image darker in some spots and lighter in others, and this month they are printed on the box. The result is a logo that pops, is sharp and attention-getting.
This months contents were catered again to me and my feline companions and included the following:
Refined Feline Wallet: This walled is by Triple T Studios and the image is a proprietary cat quilting image inspired by her cat Gracey. I love this and I was in the market of a wallet and this could not be more perfect for me. This wallet has many slots for credit cards/loyalty cards/licenses, as well as room for cash and any other items you need in your wallet.
Ultimate Cat Lady Car Magnet: This is a Cat Lady Box Exclusive item, and features the Cat Lady logo. This magnet is approximately 3-4 inches long and proudly announces that you are a cat lady. This is an exclusive item to Cat Lady Box and instead of going on my car it will go on my refrigerator as I would hate to see it stolen and i live in a beach community (meaning lots of in and out traffic).
The Cat Print Scarf: This scarf is also made by Triple T Studios and is super cute. This scarf is a great size at 27.5 by 63 inches (70 x 160 cm) and large enough to use how you would prefer. I already know when and where I plan to where this and I know it will be a conversation starter. This scarf is made of 100% chiffon and is very versatile for any look.
For Mew Crisp: This is a handmade toy made of catnip and crinkle. Each toy includes a generous amount of organic catnip and is the perfect size for the Muggles to bunny kick and carry around with them.
Catit Eco Sisal Cardboard Mouse with Feather: This is a perfect toy for my two Muggles. I have found that they love anything made of sisal and the resistance it gives on their paws is just what they love based on the reaction that they give. The feathers will be groomed and the toy tossed around, and eventually lost under the couch.
Postcard – Ablaze in Color: This is a pen and ink artist, who like me, tends towards unique and colorful designs. This abstract artist draws nature scenes that are colorful and feature animals, and whimsically detailed gnomes. I love this postcard and plan to frame it and hang in on my side of the bedroom. This postcard doubles on its opposite side as the listing of the products contained in the box.
It is an added bonus to the cat community that each month 5% of profits go to cat rescues, also giving subscribers an opportunity to nominate an organization to be a beneficiary of Cat Lady Boxes generosity.

My cats never stop doing funny stuff. I operate a small shelter for elderly cats, and I watch then all day. I do laugh, when the ones with no teeth bite me. It feels weird.
My cat climbed in the hole under my bathroom sink (where the pipes go in) and got himself stuck in the bathroom cabinet.
The funniest thing our cat has ever done is sleep in the clothes dryer.
It’s warm, it smells like you all, makes sense.
My cat has a habit of rolling around beside me on the bed to get some petting…and rolling off the edge. She jumps back onto the bed like she totally meant to do that 🙂
Our girl Maggee does that every night with my husband on her favorite stool.
My cat loves to stare at shadows for hours, it’s pretty funny.
Frankie is a very large cat and somewhat overweight. He has a cardboard box that has a low entryway. It is funny to see him commando crawl under it.
My Bengals have done so many funny things. They aren’t regular cats. They love water and will attempt to get into bath or shower with you. My big male cat, Tigger, loves to turn light switches on and off.
My kitty, Sissy, was so cute and funny when she was little. She used to sleep in a lamp. There was no bulb in it. A very strange place to take a nap but she seemed to like it there.

My cat (as usual) got all excited about hearing his cat treat bag and lost his footing and fell off the bed then tried to act all casual as if he meant for that to happen.

My cat has climbed into my fireplace and to the back of it, and say staring at me as I tried to coax him to come out of the fireplace.
One of my 18 month old cats likes to move his litter box around. have no idea why, he just stands on his 2 hind feet like a little person, and pushes it with his front feet. Silly boy.
My cat likes to stare at us when we sleep.
My cat scoops all the socks out of the sock drawer onto the floor and then proceeds to nap in the empty drawer. Sometimes when we can’t find her, we go to the dresser drawers and she is inside on top of the clothes. She is special!
The other day I came down stairs in the morning and heard my cat meowing. She was standing up on the lamp and was in the lamp shade. Crazy cat. 🙂

We just adopted 2 kittens, they’re brothers that were abandoned at birth. The one loves to climb on my son’s head, especially when he’s wearing a hat. The cat sometimes just sits up there and other times he plays with the bill of his hat.

My cat Grayball used to live at my Dad’s house, one time I was walking down his driveway and I heard her meow, and she was up on the roof of the house!
My cat used to love to knock stuff down- she was amazing at breaking things including full bottles of wine.

One night I was eating kettle corn. Lily, who has never shown an interest in human food before, jumped onto the couch to sit next to me. This is nothing new since she is a lap cat. I had a hand full of popcorn ready to shove into my mouth. Without hesitating, Lily put her face into my hand and started munching on the popcorn. Ever since that night, Lily gets excited when she hears the popcorn in the microwave or finds me with a bag. Our other cat Charizard things she wants some of the popcorn. So I have to let her sniff some to remind her that she doesn’t like it. (Charizard prefers peanuts.)

I think my funniest surprise was when I left my dryer open with a clean load of clothes and found my kitty Finn sleeping in all those warm clothes in that dark dryer. He tries to get in there all the time now!

My cat cracks me up when he brings all of his toys in my bedroom at night (because he wants to play). Sometimes I wake up and they’ll be his wand, cotton mouse, along with a ball or something in bed with me! Always makes me smile, he is so playful.
My poor cat was scared by something–a picture falling off the wall across the room–that it looked like she levitated three feet straight in the air.

My cat is akways up to something.
His obsession with the blu-ray player is pretty funny. He’ll sit there watching it open and close and will look everwhere including behind the tv to try and figure out how it works.
My cat jumps straight up in the air when startled, and it’s hilarious.
My cat jumped into a full bucket of paint when he was a kitten, there is still paint stains on my door!
At least once a day, my boy Henry jumps on our wooden kitchen chair, rolls on his back and grabs the arm with his front paws. Then he proceeds to kick the heck out of it with his back paws, while swinging his head wildly in all directions! This often ends with him falling to the floor, getting up & prancing off, with that ‘I meant to do that’ kind of attitude cats get. I don’t know what that chair ever did to him, but it must have been bad!!
Our kitten loves to sleep in shoes which I think is funny. He’s just so cute.
One time, I gave my cat a treat and then tossed the empty bag on the floor for her to play with while I went to the bathroom. I’m in the bathroom- with the door closed- sitting on the toilet….when I see the empty bag being very slowly pushed through the bottom of the door. This smart cat was letting me know that the bag was empty and I needed to give her another treat.
My cat came sliding down the front window while we were driving out of our neighborhood. That was a hoot after the initial shock!
When Edgar was a kitten he would chase our 150 pound dog around the house and jump on his back for a read.
Everything they do is hilarious! That’s why we love cats!!

I have video of my cat Snoopy hovering his big fluffy tail over an open flame candle. The stream of light goes straight thru his tail on the video. I’m shocked he didn’t set it on fire but a funny family story. Butt warmer 🙂
One of my cats makes the strangest noises! Her meow is so cute and her sneezes are so bizarre. I laugh every time!

My cat Skeeter will take her head under the edge of my laptop and flip it up out of the way to get attention. Then Spitter when he wants to be petted says Momma and will keep tapping me with his paw when he wants some love.

I’ll never forget the time my cat was leaping into the air to catch a balloon and a caught a photo of him–he was at least three feet off the ground!

My cats make me laugh everyday. I was finishing dishes one day when I looked over to see my baby Alex sitting in the clean slow cooker. Luckily she was comfy and I was able to get a few pictures.
I crack up every time I see her take off through the house like someone is chasing her with big wide eyes.
My cat who is 18 pulls on my hair when she wants me to feed her. Noel will climb up on the couch a tug on my pony tail.
I’m really not sure I can narrow it down easily, but the first thing that comes to mind is something my incredibly cool cat did when I was a kid. My dad was trying to show off the fact the cat would pull a cat treat out of the treat canister with his left paw (he was a leftie) and he was standing there telling the cat over and over “Perform, Perform”. So the cat threw up a hairball on the carpet in front of him and all the guests.
My cat once lept into the partially full bathtub; he was so horrified that it was almost like he walked on water he go out so fast.
My cat lives in a house with two other dogs and we have 2 BIG dogs outside. So, things get rather humorous around here! One of my favorites was on evening my largest dog, weighs in at 166lbs, poked his head in the front door while we were loving on him. The cat was in the window, reached over and literally patted the dog on the head. The dog had the most confused look on his face.. it was hilarious!
More toys for Max so he will not attack my feet.
Oh, I wish I could find a cat like the one I used to have! They are all funny, but this one GROWLED lol, she was a great judge of charcter….but she really did not like men. I got her as a rescuce so maybe that played a part. When you heard the sound of a huge guard dog growling come out of this little cat it was so funny!
I found her drinking from the toilet once… I have no idea why!
My cats are so funny they will sit looking at the wall moving their heads all around wondering when the red dot will come back after I get tired of using the laser pointer.
My cat sits on a small floor rug and lets the dog push the rug around the floor while she sits on it. She looks very calm and collect and it is very funny to see.
The funniest thing my cat does is walk with me to check the mailbox. He must think he is expecting mail.

Our kiddies are always a real hoot ~ especially the Tuxedo Cat. Although neutered, and very much a m.ama’s cat ~ he definitely related my hubby as a male figure to imprint on ~ and he wanted to grow up to be just like “daddy”. Even when we was only a tiny 7 week old, he’d jump up on the sink and watch him shave and try to to play with the running water and knock the razor out my hubby hand.
A few years later when my honey was re-learning to play the guitar, the cat would always watch him carefully. One day when we were having dinner we heard guitar “music” from the other room and I kid you not, the cat was “playing” the guitar!
He does things to imitate up ALL the including sleeping in between parallel and ALWAYS with his head the pillow in a position mimicking my husband’s ~ but still cozy up to me.
