BuddhiBox Monthly Subscription Review – September Box

BuddhiBox Monthly Subscription Review  – September 2015 Box

Buddhi Box September Box ContentsI spend my day in a peaceful home. I typically wake up around 8:00am and make lunch for my husband, and see him off to a great day at work. I then go through the process of waking myself up – which usually includes an energy drink and cuddles with the cats. I then grab my computer and read and respond to emails and begin to write. During this time the only sound is my cats living life, outdoor noises (there is construction a couple of homes away) and the sound of thoughts swirling in my head.

I love this peacefulness and I look forward to it each day. This amount of peacefulness is not only conductive to writing but also for thinking and reflection. In the practice of Yoga, your silence and movement is reflective of your thoughts. With the amount of peace I have in a average day I am able to hone in on that peace, corral my thoughts.

Earlier in the year, I had the opportunity to review previous boxes (click here) and they are always enjoyable and grounded. The message is always one of compassion, and peacefulness and of course always yoga.

When the bright green tissue paper again greeted me I found myself eager again to tear the paper and delve into this months box. This month came with 3 cardboard information cards that are clear and in full color. The first card was the “Downward Facing Dog” that shows the pose in full color, as well as the benefits about the pose. There is a recipe for a “Penne all Norma” that is made using 11 ingredients, including the spice packet and is basically pasta with tomato sauce with eggplant. The final information card included was a box content listing and on the other side the following quote:

It’s the possibility of having a dream, come true that makes life interesting.  – Paul Coelho

I have included individual reviews of the items in the box, included in the box were the following items:

Snack Pouches Buddhi September 2015Snack Pouches – $8.00: These are Love Reusable Snack Bags and are perfect for dry snacks. These are dishwasher top rack safe and have a food-safe PEVA coasting. These are sold in pairs and are perfect for on the go Eco-conscience families. I received the Anchors Aweigh set and it was a bright white and blue striped design reminiscent of being out at sea.

Rickaroons Buddhi Box September 2015Rickaroons – Vegan Macaroons – $3.00: I received a delicious moist macaroon that was a good size. These are 100% organic, Paleo friendly, soy-free and gluten-free macaroons. These contain Chia Seeds, protein rich almond butter and dark chocolate that in anti-oxidant rich. This is a local to San Diego company and I love to see smaller local companies get a potentially national exposure.

Detergent Buddhi Box September 2015No Sweat – Laundry Detergent – $6.00:  This was a 4 ounce bottle of laundry detergent. It is funny how life and timing sometimes coincide perfectly. I have a shirt that I want to remove some sweat that has made a home for itself on the shirt and had been looking for something that may work. This says that it will erase stains, protect fabric while preserving the fit – I will let you know!

Essential Nest Headache Buddhi Box September 2015

Ease Up Headache Relief Rollerball – $12: This is made by Essential Nest and is a simple combination of Lavender Essential Oil, Peppermint Essential Oil, Basil Essential Oil and Sweet Almond Oil. This 100% vegan formula is not tested on animals and is 100% therapeutic grade oil. I had a headache when I tried this and while it did not completely remove my headache i did have the scent of the oils that helped relax me.

Hair and Body Butter Buddhi Box September 2015Co Pur – Hair Mask – $22.00: The hair and butter combination is made of coconut oil, Shea butter, avocado oil, Bergemot oil and Lavender oil. I generally do not use any oil or other products other than shampoo and conditioner in my hair, but I thought “why not?”. I have rather long hair so this took a little more than a nickel size to disperse on my head but those with short hair this would be more than enough. I did notice during application that i was getting more random strands out and as it sat I could feel it doing something on my scalp. The rinse out took a bit of effort to wash out, but this was my first time using oil in my hair. An hour later I am happy to say that my hair is not oily, soft and light.

Spices Buddhi Box September 2015Spice Blend Packet – $2.00: This is made by Ground 2 Table and comes with a recipe. The companies idea is that you Buy Small:Use It all. This is to help us all cut waste and live a more sustainable life. This is a spice blend that us USDA Organic. The company has over 12 blends and I received the Italian blend of oregano, basil and rosemary. This was a great serving size for Jason and I. I also really like that this is another local San Diego company.
