Uncle Steve’s Italian Specialties Review and Giveaway

20150315_185337

My mother-in-law comes from an Italian family – the type that has buckets of food and there is no such thing as declining an offer for a meal. My husband has high standards where sauces are concerned and finding a sauce as good as he remembers from his adolescence is nothing short of almost impossible. I, on the other hand grew up on a combination of a homemade version of the store-bought sauces as a base. Needless to say, Jason and I have very different opinions of what makes a good sauce.

In my quest to locate the perfect sauce I reached out to Uncle Steve’s Italian Specialties for a sample of their sauces. They were kind enough to send me 1 jar of each of their Tomato Basil Sauce, Marinara Sauce, Spicy Arrabiata Sauce. Also, included was a branded wooden spoon which I found very neat because I had been wanting a nice quality wooden spoon.

As I creep closer to 40 I find that I have a sensitive tummy much like my father did at my age (darn genetics), and sadly spicy tomato products irritate the condition. Due to the sensitivity issues I have we tested the two non spicy varieties, but I gave the spicy to a friend and they LOVED it! They said that it was spicy without a spicy after taste and was one of the best spicy sauces they have had.

20150315_190132The first sauce we tried was the Tomato Basil Sauce. We decided to cook up some sausage and spaghetti to mix with the sauce. After I made the sausage I poured the sauce in the pan to heat it up. As I was moving the sauce onto the noodles I noticed that it was not watery and had actual chunks of tomatoes. The flavor on this sauce met with Jason’s approval – a win!

20150404_022448The second sauce we used, we made ravioli and we used the Marinara Sauce. As a non-italian the only marinara sauce I have had been the kind with the rip off top or on the side that comes from a large jar. Jason discovered these cheese and spinach filled pasta squares and they were the perfect base for the chosen sauce. Just like the Tomato Basil the tomatos were chunky and the sauce was not watery. The smell was fresh and the taste was equally fresh.

I suppose I am leaving out the best part of this review, the Uncle Steve I am referring to is Steve Schirripa from Sopranos fame. Schirripa played the goomba Bobby Baccalieri as one of Tony Sopranos gang of goombas. Uncle Steve’s was inspired by Schirippa’s Brooklyn upbringing as well as his Italian heritage.

The sauce is created from organic fresh ingredients, is gluten-free, is non-GMO, contains no added sugar and each sauce has VERY few ingredients. The sauces are also USDA Certified Organic, and are Kosher.

While we are still searching for the perfect sauce for Jason, this is a close reminder to the sauce that he grew up eating at family functions. I would highly recommend, at the very least trying one jar (although once you try one jar I am not sure you will ever go back to your store-bought sauces).

You can purchase a jar on the Uncle Steve’s website for $7.99 a jar + shipping and handling. Click here for their online store or to locate Uncle Steve’s Italian Specialties Sauces near you, click here. To purchase Uncle Steve’s sauce on Amazon, click here

Unelowsdpokls.cem is wrong. Romney is ahead 74% – 26%. If he decides to put some work it, he might win California and Massachusetts. My polling suggests both of those states are in play this year.

The poem and the oil go together so well. I just love how well the poem is crafter and the beautiful use of meter and sound. Only thing that kept this from reaching 100% perfection for me was that the rhymes at the beginning set up my expectation for further rhyme later on. Outside of this one constderaiion this poem was really quite something. It was so real — the snipe breaking cover, catching the sight of the personna and leading that sight to Mercury is such a great touch!

Thank you for another infaimotrve site. Where else could I get that type of info written in such an ideal way? I have a project that I’m just now working on, and I’ve been on the look out for such info.

There is some plausibility about the idea that specimens looked in the mouth and measured around the thigh for fitness would provide strong athletic stock. I remember my older brother explaining this to me, as his own commonsense formulation, as a teenager, long before either of us had heard the term HBD. As we were raised in an atmosphere of easy race realism, my brother's theory was actually a 'progressive' (or rebellious) attempt to salvage something of a blank slatist model. These days, it's about the most politically incorrect (and scientifically incorrect) non-HBD thing anyone can say. Gilbert P.
