Sauce Goddess: Rubs and Sauce Review and Giveaway
I am local girl, I was raised in the North County area of San Diego. I love to support local companies and see them grow. As we venture further into this cooking adventure I find myself trying sauces and rubs that I might not have considered using in the past. This includes finding sauces and rubs locally made with quality ingredients.
I found this magic combination of local and quality when I came upon Sauce Goddess. Sauce Goddess is small female owned business in San Diego. The company started in 2009 with 2 sauces and has grown into a national sauce company. The company tagline is “If you don’t lick your fingers, someone else will” is true from the standpoint I did lick my fingers. Sauce Goddess was generous enough to send us 2 sauces.
The flavors I got were the Big and Tangy & Sticky Sweet and 2 rubs – Latin Heat & Original Super Chunk.
Each of the sauces had their own individual flavor – my favorite was the Sticky Sweet. This is not to say that the Big and Tangy was not good, it was just as good as the previous one. I used the Sticky Sweet for pork ribs and it did not take a lot to make a big impact. As you can see by the sauce photo the sauce is thick and deep with color as well as taste. I used the second sauce as a topping over vanilla ice cream, and i know this sounds crazy but it was so good. Both of these sauces would be awesome over almost anything you can put a BBQ sauce on such as salmon, pork, steak, and chicken.
I also received a couple rubs to sample which were Latin Heat & Original Super Chunk. The Latin Heat Spice Rub includes chili pepper and other spices, salt, dehydrated garlic and onions as well as paprika. The Original Super Chunk includes salt, dehydrated garlic and onion, spices, mustard seeds, fennel, coriander. The rubs were really good, with the Latin having a nice spicy kick to it and the original being a nice middle ground – not to spicy but still having some spice.
I can say this is in my top 10 for favorite BBQ sauces I have ever had! I encourage you to give it a try!
