Pet Gift Box – Cat – Subscription Box – October 2015 Review
The first thing that I think of each Halloween is black cats, but not in the way you may initially think. Black cats are synonymous with witches, bad luck and general creepiness. The reason that I think of them is that many people adopt these black cats as a Halloween novelty and do not consider that they are living creatures.
Many shelters, including my local shelter where I got the Muggles, puts a hold on black cat adoptions through the end of Halloween weekend. I personally agree with this policy and would like to see it “adopted” in all shelters, stores and rescue organizations.
The black cat issue aside I do not think that animals really like to wear costumes, Halloween or any other day despite what their guardians may think. Despite this I put hats, glasses and any other item I can locate onto our cats. In this months Pet Gift Box I am happy to say that I got an addition to my ever-expanding cat costume collection.
The items included this month ranged from Halloween toys to fall treats:
Dr. Daniels: Catnip Pumpkin – Spooky Catnip Ghost – Halloween Mouse – $ 7.97: Murfee is a catnip addict and the minute I put them down, he was all over them. At one point Jason looked over and Murfee was rolling around and in the toys. These are 100% catnip filled and I can tell you that the catnip comes through!
Halloween Boo-Dana – $5.00 : What better way to show off a bandana then letting our girl model it for you. This was a challenging photo to get, as Maggee wanted nothing to do with this. She finally settled while Jason held her, and I think she looks quite proud of herself with this on! I think she looks pretty and regal!
Cats in the Kitchen: Pumpkin Jack Splash – $ 2.25: On my first look at this description I was not sure Maggee would like this and I could not have been more incorrect! Maggee just scorfled this up so quickly that when I looked again the bowl was almost perfectly clean. This is a knock it out of the park success.
Feather Boa Wand with Toy and Catnip – $ 3.98: Our cats love things that go flying in the air that they are able catch and then groom. It took Maggee a couple of minutes to realize what it was for, once she did she loved it! She groomed the feathers each time she caught it and made both her guardians giggle. Caution when playing, this snaps back rather quickly.
Lattice Balls – $ 3.00: These immediately got Murfees attention since there is a jingle inside of them. I love that the colors are Halloween themed although I know these will join the under the couch void where all his other ball toys have ended up thus far. I am going to parse these out when he needs a toy with the hope of making them last.
This box never disappoints and we have told many family and friends about it. The items are always thoughtfully chosen and put together in a way that makes the box thematic. The items are always an equal quality in which I would purchase and my cats also seem to really enjoy this box. This box was pulled together this month with Halloween in mind and everything matched that overall theme! I love that the box is addressed to Maggee and Murfee, and this months box was orange in honor of the upcoming holiday.
