Celebrating A Special Mom at the Oceanside Harbor
This past Saturday Jason and I spent our morning at the Jolly Roger in Oceanside celebrating the moms in our life. In attendance was Jason’s mother Sharon, his aunts Joni, Janie and Keri, as well as the matriarch of the family – Grammie Helen. Also in attendance was were a couple of the single cousins.
Grammie Helen is the true definition of a matriarch – she raised 5 kids which consisted of 2 boys (Jerry and John) and 3 girls (Joni, Janie and Julie). As her life took its twists and turns, and her husband built the family business, she instilled values and love in her 5 kids. I have had the honor of being a part of this family for 7 years now, and each year as the family grows, so does the love.
When I joined the family it was not the size it is now, there have been marriages and births which puts her grandchildren at a 14 kids plus 8 spouses (an even boy/girl split). Jason is the oldest of the family, and was the official protector of the younger kids. Many of these 14 kids have grown and now have kids of their own, which makes Grammie the Great-Grandmother to 15 kids from 6 grand-children. She is an engaged and interactive woman who sees her kids and grand-kids often and is proud of each one. buy prevacid online https://buynoprescriptionrxxonline.net/prevacid.html no prescription
After the wonderful brunch ended Jason and I took a drive around the Oceanside Harbor, which is about . We saw seals, boats and the slight memory of the rain that had been there a couple of hours before. The Harbor is a beautiful 2 mile drive, that resembles a “U” shape. Along the path are boats that serve as weekend escapes and homes, as well as restaurants and shops.
At many points we parked the car and got out to look, and even picked up to taffy to take home! Well not just taffy – we got some Dark Chocolate covered Honeycomb and also some flavored sticks that are similar to lollipops. I also picked up a Fun-Dip in Strawberry!
The comment that we kept making was how lucky we are to live so close to such beauty. We live only about 20 minutes from the harbor, yet have done this only few times. We both agreed that we should come up to the Harbor more often – it was beautiful and beyond peaceful, as you can see in the below photos.
