Monthly Mystery Box of Awesome – October 2016 Review

There is no denying it – the holidays are upon us and with that comes family get togethers, meals shared, photos taken and gifts given.

If you are anything like me, I tend to like 2 types of gifts. The first being the useful ones that I have been wanting. The second is “white elephant” gifts. I have discovered that while it is great to get a heart-felt gift, there is something mysterious and random about getting a gift that may or may not have any use in your life.

The downside to this gift giving is that while the “white elephant” gifts are sometimes the best part of the holiday, the fact is it is only really once a year. At least that is what I believed until I started receiving the Monthly Mystery Box of Awesome by That Daily Deal.com. Each month no theme is chosen, but rather a selection of random gender neutral items that will undoubtedly meet a need of yours or a lucky recipient.

Here is a breakdown of the items that included in the September Box of Awesome:

Party Tasting Set: As regular readers know we watch A LOT of Food Network around here. Since I spend so much time watching these beautiful presentations, I want to recreate them. This is a tasting spoon set, which would work well for dips and vegetables, amongst many other items.

GrabBag Reusable Grocery Bag: We live in a county that has banned the use of plastic bags so these could not have come at a better time. The best part is they fold up compact and when you undo them, they expand quite a bit. These seem to be made from the typical recyclable bags material and is reinforced on the bottom.

Lewis N Clark E Reader Light: This is a light to help you read your e-reader. This provides enough light to read, while not disturbing your partner. This will get a good amount of use in our house.

Star Wars Trash Can: Trash cans are always handy to have around and even more so if it is Star Wars!!

Zombie Apocalypse Heat Change Mug: I have never seen a Zombie Apocalypse heat changing mug, but I think the idea is awesome! I plan to send this mug to a friend who is Apocalypse crazy.

Pot Handle Holder: This could not have come at a more perfect time – we have begun using our oven and the handles can get hot. I love that I have an easy slip on/slip off handle to make the removal of the pan a little simpler. Plus what a great color!

Each month random box receivers will received a high ticket item included in their box. The examples of past items received are an inflatable hot tub, 70″ curved television, a years worth of bacon, a 3D printer, and even drones!

As regular readers will know I see a lot of boxes and this is by far the most random, and most unique ones I have received.

When they named this a Mystery Box of Awesome they are not exaggerating – it is awesome!
