Homemade Bath Bombs, Salts & Scrubs Review

Homemade Bath Bombs, Salts & Scrubs: 300 Natural Recipes for Luxurious Soaks Review and Giveaway

Homemade Bath BombsAbout 4 years ago Jason and I bought our first home! We live in what we call our “shrinky dink” house – which is a quite appropriate. The reason for the name is imagine a house with an upper deck and a big front porch and all the indoor living areas as per typical of a house. Now imagine shrinking the house into a quarter of its intended size and you have our home.

We have all the modern conveniences, short of a bathtub. I never imagined I would miss the bathtub as much as I do, but honestly it is missed deeply. Since I lost that one luxury of life, I now spoil my friends that do have a bathtub with assorted bath bombs and soaks.

I have wanted to find a master book that has natural remedies and natural scents to cure the ails of getting older. When I received Homemade Bath Bombs, Salts & Scrubs: 300 Natural Recipes for Luxurious Soaks by Kate Bello I was excited.

Homemade Bath Bombs, Salts & Scrubs: 300 Natural Recipes for Luxurious Soaks by Kate Bello is over 300 recipes of natural soaks and scrubs.

The first thing that I noticed as I was initially reviewing the book was there are a couple essential ingredients you are going to need to create these soaks and scrubs. The needed ingredients include Dead Sea salts, Epsom Salts, Coarse Sea Salts, Citric Acid, Baking Soda, and your choice of Essential Oils. These are all inexpensive and a package will yield you many bath and soaks! Keep in mind that all of the ingredients are not used at the same time, but broken up among the recipes.

Low Blood Pressure SoakAs you can see the recipes are easy to read, and you make a good quantity that can be used on numerous soaks. These are made of all natural ingredients and they assist in ailments that range from allergies, acne, stress, sunburns, high blood pressure and even headaches. There are also recipes that target the root chakras and even have soaks inspired by your astrological sign.

If you are looking for a comprehensive collection of recipes to soak and relax in, then I would recommend picking up a copy of Homemade Bath Bombs, Salts & Scrubs.

This would make a cute gift for someone going through a less than easy time, whip a couple soaks and a copy of the book – brighten someones day!

Also, a neat aside, when I was researching I discovered she lives in the same town as I do – small world!

No. I have not made a bath salt but I want to especially after seeing this post! I think the essential oil is feature to it because there is a natural way to relax and unwind in a healthier non-toxic way.
Lavender essential oil would be a nice one because I heard it melts away headaches. I think that my body tenses up easily and struggle with anxiety. This bath salt will help out tremendously to have my own spa day at the comfort of my own (shared) bathtub.

I haven’t made any of my own bath products, other than just using straight coconut oil as a moisturizing and toothpaste. I did receive a homemade lemon and sugar bath scrub as a party favor at my cousin’s bridal shower last August. I did use it, but it went rancid fairly quickly.
