My mom is a great crafter and taught me a lot of skills. One year she even got me a subscription to a club where I received one craft every month (first subscription box???). My favorite craft both then and now is sewing. My mom sews every day and sells her things in local stores, at craft shows, and donates many wonderful items, too. Unlike her, I sew when I want to make something and almost every project will be completed in one day – lol. I’m so thankful that she took the time to teach me not only this skill, but many others, too.

My mother wasnt crafty but i remember a cool craft we did at school. It was where we went outside and collected leaves in the fall. All different colored ones and different shaped ones. We used wax paper and crayons and a iron. I dont remember exactly how to do it but i remember i thought it was so cool and colorful.

I mainly did handwork–knitting, embroidery, crocheting–and I still do (although I have discovered that several decades have made it somewhat more difficult to do fine work!

I loved all types of crafts, joined a craft club when I was about 8 yrs old and received a different kit every 2 weeks. We loved making ornaments and necklaces also.

We made a plastic bag wreath every Christmas with girl scouts…it was one of my favorite crafts and we’ve done it with my daughter too!
