Effie’s Homemade Tea Biscuits Review

Effie’s Homemade: Cocoa-Cakes, Nut Cakes and Oat Cakes Review + Giveaway

Relaxation can be hard to come by in this modern and busy world that we live in. When I do have a moment of quiet and relaxation, I want to enjoy the moment. One of my indulgences for relaxation is tea, a good book and cookies.

Since I am always looking for new cookies to add to my tea snack collection, and when I saw Effie’s Homemade cakes, I knew that they would be the perfect accessory for my moments of relaxation.

The products featured in this post were provided to me free of charge courtesy of Effie’s Homemade. This post may have affiliate links but this in no way will influence the review to follow and all opinions are my own.

I received an assortment of Effie’s Homemade Biscuits including the following flavors:

Cocoa-Cakes – These crispy cakes are made of Wheat flour, butter, oats, sugar, barley malt extract, dried coconut, cocoa, salt, baking soda, water, and sugar. This has sugar crystals on each cake, and once I got this a little moist it was very good. The chocolate was not over powering and a good amount of sweetness.

Pecan Nutcakes – These are a nutty cake that uses wheat flour, butter, pecans, whole wheat flour, brown sugar, honey, water, salt, and baking soda. These tasted of pecan and when dry a little chewier but once moistened a bit with the tea were very good.

Oatcakes – These reminded me of a plain oatmeal put into a crispy square. These are made of wheat flour, oats, butter, sugar, organic palm oil, water, salt, and baking soda. This is a 4th generation family recipe that have a slight nutty flavor.

These are line of tea biscuits that are made from quality ingredients that are easy to pronounce. Each biscuit’s has a crisp texture, a hint of buttery sweetness and a slightly salty finish that makes it a nice treat to have with your tea.

If you are looking for a simple biscuit to have with your tea or coffee, give Effie’s Homemade a try!

My favorite would have to be a quick bread or muffin (like pumpkin or banana bread), preferable something with nutsand/or streusal. Or lemon-poppy seed bread (or muffin) is good too!

I really enjoy toast with Irish butter with my coffee. It’s what my grandmother ate every morning, so it has some memories associated with it as well ๐Ÿ™‚

This is a difficult question because I like so many snacks. If I’m drinking coffee I love Italian cream cake with it. I don’t drink tea hardly ever but if I’m drinking a Diet Coke I like dips as a snack.

Cookies are my favorite treat with tea or coffee.

I usually drink coffee by itself and because I like my coffee on the sweet side if I did have something it would be more on the savory side like crackers or I would drink the coffee first then have a sweet treat like a muffin or cookie…..
