ColorMetrics: Touchback & Streekers Review and Giveaway
I have mentioned in the past how I put my hair through a lot of abuse, due to dying and getting a permanent whenever legally allowed. I have sense calmed that abusive action and now when I do color my hair it is with natural dyes, and no ammonia or peroxide.
On the opposite side of the spectrum, I am a San Diego Charger fan, and a proud fan. I love wearing my jersey on game days, and I have scrunchies and ribbons galore to adorn my hair with. I decided long ago, that despite my love, I would never dye my hair a blue or yellow (blond is yellow isn’t it?). I have always thought it would be fun to show my pride via my hair.
I am always on the lookout for new or different products that can change my hair and I have discovered two such products from ColorMetrics – Touchback Instant Temporary Color and Streekers: Wild Weekend Hot Colors for Cool Hair.
The ColorMetrics Touchback Instant Temporary Color is a shampoo and conditioner set that deposits color in your hair. The Touchback Instant Temporary Color comes in 4 colors and includes Natural Blonde, Auburn, Medium Brown and Dark Brown. The basic idea is that this is real dye, and does not contain ammonia free, peroxide free, sulfate free – no harsh chemicals at all and this contains no animal products and is not tested on animals! I can tell you from trying this, there is no adverse smell or odor.
This is a real dye, so by the process of application it will get on your hands, so my best advice is to rinse your hands right away, which if you are in shower this should be easy. I left the color on for about 3 minutes and when I rinsed it, it looked like I had done a full dye on my hair. I then applied the conditioner and like the shampoo it was brown. I applied the conditioner and left it on for at least 5 minutes, but that was due more to the hot water and laziness.
Streekers: Wild Weekend Hot Colors for Cool Hair are temporary liquid hair coloring that is as simple to use as it appears. The Streekers come with a soft applicator, that makes the application simple and surprisingly precise. My hair is a bit on the darker end, so the yellow was a little harder to see, but the blue was very obvious! What I liked the most was that for “game day’s” this will give me one more way to show my Charger pride, and also easily wash it out if the team is doing less than winning. I would say that i you have hair on the lighter (or greyer) side this coloring will work perfect, if your hair is a bit darker than use at your own risk, it may not show up as well as you like. Once the coloring dries, you can brush and style your hair as you normally would, just with a pop of color.
Streekers: Wild Weekend Hot Colors for Cool Hair come in 8 colors including Red, Pink, Ultra Violet, Purple, Green, Orange, as well as the Blue and Yellow I received. I did get some of this on my hands, and then it spread as I tried to contain the slow migration to smurfdom. When I made it to the sink, the coloring washed off my hands with little effort and little soap, I was pleasantly surprised. The bonus is that you can use this over hair gel and wax, as well as hairspray – it is versatile beyond expectations.
I loved the result of my hair with both of these products, and I plan to color my hair for my next home game! If you are looking for a versatile and temporary color alternative I would HIGHLY recommend Colormetrics Touchback Instant Temporary Color and Streekers!

I had blue hair once. I’m a little to old for it now, but the tweens in the family will love this. Thanks for the chance.
I should have never crimped my hair for my school pictures!
