Sock Club – September 2015 – Review & Giveaway

Sock Club SeptemberI am a sock fan and it could be said that I have a hoard level collection of socks. Jason made a comment today on my ever-growing sock collection and his surprise that I was unable to locate a pair to wear. I finally settled on a bulky pair that is to heavy for this time of year in California. I recently received a pair of socks from SockClub.com and was thrilled to see that they might be the pair I was searching for.

SockClub.com has been around over a year now and each month they send a sock and a note explaining what the inspiration behind choosing that sock was. These are an American made product – the socks are designed in Austin, Texas and manufactured in North Carolina. The company’s began when 2 friends made a bet over a corn hole match and they then began to think about what they could do with a small fortune (after all a bet had been made) and decided the answer was socks – thus Sock Club was conceived.

Sock Club September - LongI received a pair called “The Champ”. The socks were packaged in a 8×11 “Sock Club” branded cardboard envelope.  When I opened the envelope I found a wrapped brown bag package with a wax seal in the middle, which is designed as a closure. The previous package I received from Sock Club had a letter that explained the inspiration behind the months selection. This month the letter was missing and I would have liked to see this again as it was fun to read the story behind the sock choice.

The Champ sock is a green based sock with various stripes of different green shades as well as yellow and blue stripes starting at the ankle and going down toward the foot. The top of the socks have a 3 inch band and the socks went up my calf almost to my knee. The label stated that the sock was made up of 80% cotton, 16% nylon and 4% lycra. This was a bright and comfortable sock that was thin. The thin nature of the sock allows it to be worn with just about any shoe without adding additional bulk.

It turns out that this was the sock I was searching for a couple hours earlier. Unfortunately for Jason, my sock collection continues to grow – I encourage you to check out Sock Club and add to your own sock collection.

I would really like the Delegate, or the Forefathers. Both are classy and patriotic.

I also have a tendency to hoard socks. I think my favorite pair is the THE HERRINGBONE BLUE/NAVY, but I like it in Green as well.

I like The Traveler sock because it has orange and black. Perfect for October.
