I have mentioned in the past that I was raised by a single father and this was simultaneously the best way and worst way to grow up. The worst part comes in when we are talking about my monthly period and the coming of age that every girl encounters. This was a “period” of adjustment for me, and things were new and at times scary.

I mention this overly embarrassing time period of my life to remind myself that it can and does get easier and better. One thing that I have recently found that makes it better is the monthly arrival of a box, with your monthly visitor in mind. I recently had the opportunity review Swaag/Tom Box, it is named TOM after the letters stand for “time of month” box. Each month they send your choice of sanitary product, as well as makeup, jewelery and chocolates.

Upon sign-up you will be asked a series of questions that include things such as what your favorite brand of products is, what is your skin type, what is your style, hair color and eye color as well as a couple other questions that allow them to curate a box with your specifications.

Tom Box

Playtex Gentile Glide Tampons – $5.70: I received the gentile glide assortment which included the 9 regular and 9 extra absorbancy tampon pack. Tom Box allows for the choice of product you receive which included the choice of Always, Kotex, Playtex and Tampax. The reason I chose the Tampax is that I have found they are the most comfortable and the most absorbent over the other brands offered and they are always my first choice.

Charm Bracelet and Necklace – $23.00 : Included was 1 expandable wire bangle bracelet that was emblazoned with a  “Live in the Moment” charm. Also included was necklace that resembled a sun. Each of these items are cute and bring out the girly side in me and would be cute accessories with a summer dress.

Cailyn Gel Eyeliner – $13.28 : While I do not generally use eyeliner I really loved the compact nature of this brand. I am looking forward to my next special event in which I use eyeliner, this is seems easy to use and when tested on my hand went on smooth.

Cargo Cosmetics Concealer – $30.00 : I will be honest with you when I say there are parts of my facial skin that I would like to readjust to match the other parts of my face, you know so it is all one color instead of the patchy colors it is now. When I applied this those areas (ok ok I will share, they were under my eyes!) I could instantly see a difference and the dark parts became a little lighter and I did not look as tired.

Eyebrow Comb/Brush Combo – $2.99 : Another confession for you, when I was young I would use this as a brush for my Barbie dolls. As an adult, I now know that they were for my rapidly growing eyebrows. This is a nice double combo and cuts down on the number of applicators and accessories I have in my make-up case.

Sampar Midnight Mask – Sample : This was a sample and therefore there was not a lot for me to sample, the portion I did sample left my skin soft. I would be interested in trying this in a bigger quantity to fully test it.

Bella Pierre cosmetics – $19.99 : I received the coral cheek and lip stain which matches my skin tone very nicely. The color did not make my lips look like they had anything on them, which when I do wear makeup is the way I prefer it.

Ciga Los Angeles Shimmer Shadow – $14.99 : The color I received was a wonderful gold color. I was unable to locate online the exact brand/color but found a comparable one on Amazon. When I applied it to my eyes, there was a nice shimmer off my eyes and again am looking forward to using this with the new eyeliner I also received in this box.

Coolway Glow Oil Treatment – Sample : This was a small sample and really not enough to be able to form an opinion. I have always been lucky in that my hair does not take a lot to maintain and because of that I am hesitant to using any product on it. There was not enough of the sample for me to adequately have an opinion or feel comfortable putting it in my hair.

Total Value: $109.95

Swaay/Tom boxes are available each starting at $16.00/month with a 6 month plan or $24/single month. They also have monthly add-ons such as a 4 pack of Venus Cartridges for $12.00/month extra and double makeup and double jewelery for $6.00/month extra. If you added all options for a 6 month time frame it would cost you $192.00 which averages to $32.00/month.

The value of this months box surpassed the cost by over 5 times. This box is worth the value and is choked full of customized products to make that “Time Of Month” a little easier. Let’s be honest, nobody looks forward to our cycle but knowing that we can receive a box each month makes it a little easier.

I encourage you to visit TomBox/Swaag.com or on Facebook and order one for yourself!
