Diamond Dotz Diamond Embroidery Facet Art Kit: Sweet Treats Review + a Giveaway

I have always been into crafting and creating something that I can add to my home with pride knowing I am the one who created the item. Generally I have stuck to a couple crafts including knitting, cross stitching and regular stitching, latch hook and scrapbooking.
A couple of months ago I was surfing around Instagram and saw a new type of craft available, called Diamond Dotz. The basic idea was the there was a group of symbols that correlated to a number and color of dotz. Once placed on the adhesive surface they would stick and then together create a beautiful image. The technique is refered to as a Diamond Facet Art Kit
I reached out to Needleart World to see about getting a kit to do a review and they were generous to send me “Sweet Treats” for review, and I have never been more excited to step outside my craft comfort zone.
The products featured in this post were provided to me free of charge courtesy of Needleart World. This post may have affiliate links but this in no way will influence the review to follow and all opinions are my own.
I received a the Diamond Dotz Diamond Embroidery Facet Art Kit “Sweet Treats” that included the following –

High Quality Color Printed Fabric

Diamond Dotz Pre-sorted by shade
Diamond Dotz Stylus, Craft Tray & Wax Caddy
Complete Instructions

As I began, I was eager to try each color, and I started at the bottom right and moved up in a diagonal motion. The color coordination was simple and I did each color and then would swap a new color. The beads are easy to grab, as it is simple as waxing the applicator and pickup the bead with the applicator and place in correct spot on the canvas.

After about 6 hours I had finished about a third of the project and had a hard time walking away for the night! Truth be told, it was hard not to spend all my time working on this, and each time I began I was eager and excited to see how far I could get in that session.

For the next of couple nights I worked on it, and after about 24-25 hours I found myself almost finished and sad. I realized how much I loved working on this – it was the perfect mix of relaxing and thoughtful.

I decided early on that I was going to purchase a frame for this and then repaint it to the color I wanted and that is what happened. I found the ideal frame at my local craft store and could not have been more excited to make sure it fit. I sanded the frame down and used a slate spray paint that I had used years before, and I also used a matte finish when the color dried.

Once I repainted the frame, the project came together in such a beautiful and satisfactory way! The sparkle is perfect and beams off the light in the most complementary way you can imagine!
There are numerous styles and images available for every skill level – this would be a great gift for the holidays for kids, teens, adults and older adults – it is good for everyone and everyone would love them!
I loved this project so much that I am already working on my second Diamond Dotz – Sunflowers in a Vase. I will be updating my social media throughout the project.
