Udderly Naked Goat Milk Soap Review and Giveaway!
I was raised by a single father and as seemingly awesome as that sounds to some, there are some drawbacks to this arrangement. The one drawback that affects me to this day is that I am not much of a girlie girl. I learned that 10 minute waits were much preferred over the hour-long waits to get ready. Along with lessons came the absence of spa days, manicures and frilly dress shopping. Sometimes I think that they missed giving me the girly girl gene when they were passing out traits. Despite this missing link of mine I still love some things girly and lucky for me I have discovered one such item: Udderly Naked Goat Milk Soap.
There is something about having an artisan bar using ingredients that are not usually found in soap but have healthful benefits. I have found that many soaps are excessively drying and some actually create more dermatological issues then they solve. I have read more and more recently about soap made from goat’s milk, so when the chance became available to review Udderly Naked Goat Milk Soap I was excited.
Goat’s milk soap has so many benefits and when you combine that with essential oils and vitamins you have a 100% natural soap that is healthful. Goat Milk Soap is touted to relieve and even heal eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis. The reason for this is due to the alpha hydroxy acids in the goat milk combined with the oils moisture. For my review I had the opportunity to review 3 soaps including Sunshine Soap, Nut and Honey Soap, Barista Bar, Cocoamint Lip Balm, Orangesicle Lip Balm and Lavender Hard Lotion.
I will start with the soaps. As I mentioned I tried the Sunshine Soap, Nut and Honey Soap and the Barista Bar, The Sunshine Soap smelled like a summer day, and when I read the essential oils, including lemon, orange and bergamot I understood why. The bar is a 2/3 yellow and 1/3 white. The yellow portion has flecks of Calendula petals as well as petals across the top. The Nut and Honey Soap immediately reminded me of honeycomb, due to the pattern across the top of the soap. The soap has a faint honey smell and is a base of brown color interspersed with a darker brown. The essential oils included are clove, bay, mace, and also included there are black walnut hulls thought-out the bar. The final bar I had was the Barista Bar which made me think of coffee, and actually does include actual espresso grounds. The essential oils included are coffee, cassia and benzoin. Each of the 3 soaps I reviewed each included olive oil, coconut oil, palm oil, goats milk, and palm kernel oil as bases.
The next thing that I reviewed was the lip balm. I had the opportunity to review the Cocoamint and Orangesicle lip balms. Both of the lip balms included beeswax. cocoa butter, coconut oil, and sunflower oil as a base. The Cocoamint had a distinct mint scent with a slight cocoa aroma and the Organsiscle reminded me of an “Orange Bang” or an “Orange Julius” type of flavor and smell.
The final thing that I had the chance to review was the Lavender Hard Lotion. Like many of the previously reviewed Udderly Naked products it contains beeswax, cocoa butter oil, sunflower oil, vitamin E and the essential oil lavender. I was not sure what to expect when I got this as I have never had tried a hard lotion. I really loved it and plan to purchase more in the future.
I have to say that I was not disappointed in my package from Udderly Naked Goat Milk Soap. When you look at the soap you can tell that it was handmade and carefully crafted. Each soap smells good, is low foam and makes your hands feel fresh and clean. Also as an added bonus the soaps will stay fresh for six months before the colors start to fade and before they will lose some of their ingredient quality.
If you are a fan of artisan soaps, I highly recommend that you give Udderly Naked Goat Milk Soaps a try!!
