I let them sit in the sink filled with hot water and a fabric softener sheet and couple drops of blue dawn dish soap let sit for hour and your pot or pan comes out clean works great. Saw it online and gave it a try!

  2. Shelley P

The best way I know to remove residual food that gets caked on dishes is to soak them in hot soapy water for a few hours.

  3. Michelle Castagne

Hot soap and water and a good brush gets of residual food that gets caked on dishes.

  4. Peggy

I soak it in soapy water. It may take overnight but soaking and then scrubbing does it for me.

  5. Jen D

First I soak it in hot water with a bit of dish soap, then wash it. If it hasn’t come clean, I will use a plastic scrubber or a plastic scraper on it, whichever works. Elbow grease is best in these cases.

  6. Melissa Storms

I soak unless it is a pan used on the stovetop. Than I will put a little water and a drop of dish soap in it and boil for a minute or two.

  7. Christy Peeples DuBois

Depending on what type of dish it is I let it soak in hot soapy water then use an sos pad. Otherwise I let it soak then use a regular cloth/sponge.

  8. Christina Sparks

I use either Bar Keeper’s Friend or soak it in baking soda and vinegar.

  9. ELIZABETH C.

I don’t do anything other than let the dishes soak for a while.

  10. Jackie

I usually let the dishes sit and soak in warm, soapy water.

  11. Jan

Another soaker here. Haven’t found anything yet that doesn’t come off after that.

For scorched, blackened stainless steel pans and burnt on foods, turn up the heat. Add water to your pan and bring to a boil for 5-7 minutes (don’t worry about covering the dirty sides with water – the steam will take care of that). After the food loosens and easily comes off the pan, pour out the hot water and wipe any remaining food with the scrubby part of a sponge. For glass or metal baking dishes, add boiling water and let sit for several minutes before using the scrubby side of a sponge to easily wipe away any residue.

“What is your best method to remove residual food that gets caked on dishes?” I pre-soak and rinse! And I don’t let anything really filthy go in the dishwasher! I don’t care how I’m “supposed” to use the dishwasher! It can’t be good to have it all filthy-like in there!

  15. Darcy L Koch

I rinse all food of my dishes immediately after eating. When I wash I leave them soak awhile.

  16. wendy hutton

I put them in hot soapy water and let them soak for about 10 minutes then clean them off

I just soak them in very hot water with Dawn, sometimes overnight.

  20. Christy Maurer

Honestly, since I discovered Cascade Platinum, I’ve had no problems! It’s more expensive but it is worth not having to run my dishwasher multiple times! These towels are adorable.

  21. Gloria Walshver

Soak it in hot water with dish detergent for a few hours and use SOS Pads if it still doesn;t come out.

  22. Laurie Nykaza

  23. ncjeepster

On dishes, we soak in hot soapy water and it helps break up and wash away.

  24. Chelle

I can definitely use more kitchen towels. And, these would be nice in my vintage kitchen. Hope to WIN! thanks 🙂

  25. luvtodream86

I let the dish soak in hot water with dish soap until the caked on food softens and then I scrub it clean with a sponge.

  26. Kimberley A

Baking soda works on pans that don’the scratch easily. Love the tomato towel nothing says summer like a fresh tomato I can’tell wait!

  27. Naty

I do soak the dishes on hot blue down soapy water.(the one with the duck! is the best! and also some money goes towards helping animals)

  28. Cheryl Chervitz

I rinse everything off that I can, and then I will soak it in dishwater for as long as it takes.

  29. clynsg

Soak them in soapy water, then give them a scrape to remove loose particles before putting in the dishwasher.

  30. Kimberly Hilbert

I just soak dishes until they let go of the food. If that doesn’t work I pour boiling water over them and sometimes, in desperation I might let them soak in boiling water.

  31. imaclutz89

First tip is to immediately get the foo off the dish before putting it in the sink so it won’t get caked on! If it does cake, soak it in warm water with soap overnight.

  32. Amy Deeter

adding 2 tablespoons baking soda to the usual amount of liquid you use

  33. Alison King

I let the dishes soak in hot sudsy water first. Then I use a scouring pad if I need to.

  34. Docia Vagnerini

I just let them soak and if it doesnt come off after that then a scrubbing pad of some sort 🙂

  35. kathypease

I usually scrape them with a spoon or throw them away

  36. Linda G.

I soak them in dish soap over night, really easy to remove.
