Stampin’ Up: Soft Sayings Card Kit Review

Stampin’ Up – Soft Sayings Kit Review + Giveaway

On June 1st, Stampin’ Up released their new 2017-2018 Annual Catalog, and it was choked full of new products and new kits. I compare the release of this catalog to the upcoming summer season. choked full of potential happiness and shared moments that are special. One of my favorite items in each of the yearly catalogs are the kits.

With each kit comes the stamps, ink, cards, envelopes and embellishments needed to complete a set of cards or other project. These are all in one kits that contain everything needed to complete a project if you are at the beach, river or your living room.

When I saw the Soft Sayings Card Kit, I thought of all the possibilities in this card kit, similar to the upcoming summer. I have mentioned before that card’s are simple easy sentiment’s that can be sent anytime, and for almost any occasion. With a simple card, the recipient knows we are thinking of them and celebrating them from afar.

The products featured in this post were provided to me free of charge courtesy of Stampin’ Up, but this in no way will influence the review to follow and all opinions are my own.

The Soft Sayings Card Kit allows you to make 20 cards, – 2 each of 10 different designs.

  • The following items are included in the kit:
1 set of 15 photopolymer stamps
  • 1 Clear Stamp Block
  • 20 printed card bases with coordinating printed envelopes
  • Giftable Kraft Box
  • Die-cut accents
  • Stampin’ Spot – Basic Grey
  • Baker’s Twine
  • Washi Tape
  • Stampin’ Dimensionals

The stamp set included is versatile and are appropriate for every occasion. The Soft Sayings Photopolymer Stamp Set is a 1 sheet set that is versatile and has messages for simple greetings, to Thanks and Birthdays. Also included is a clear block that the stamps are able to mounted to make for easier stamping.

My recommendation is to keep stamp cleanup easy with the use of baby wipes that can be used to clean the surface of the stamps. When you use the grey ink it is important to note that the ink does have a tendency to stay on the stamp. The wipes do seem to clean the stamps of the residual ink that is inevitably left on the stamp.

The kit’s cards are water colored and each card has a selection of embellishments and laser cut additions. The cards have a combination of areas to stamp sentiments, and when put together creates a personalized hand-made card. Also included are various embellishments that make the card unique and the cards allow for your own creativity to take flight.

I created some of the cards that are suggested with the kit, but plan to create the rest of the cards differently when I know the specific occasion that I am sending the card for.

The instructions are simple and I was able to follow along, and appreciated the tips included in the instructions. The Soft Sayings Card Kit allows for creativity, and the ability to make each item different despite it being in a kit – there are no limitations.

As I have mentioned before in other kits, if I had one suggestion, it would be to put the color images on a page opposite the instructions, so that they can be used a visual reference.

As with many handmade items it does take some time to create the cards but the time is well spent.

I loved the Soft Sayings Card Kit and this would be a perfect collection of cards for birthdays as well as coordinating tags for any gifts that might accompany those cards.

If you want a good-looking kit that has what you need to create the perfect soft sayings cards, the Soft Sayings Card Kit is what you have been looking for!

We love to take day trips within driving distance of home and take two longer vacations. I enjoy my annual trip to eat at my favorite restaurant, Alma Nove, and tax free shopping in North Conway, New Hampshire! Thanks for the super giveaway opportunity.

  2. Janet Adams

I enjoy the summer months because I get more time to play with my son.

I enjoy a lot of summer activities with my husband: bicycling, walking, motorcycle rides, shopping in our local Amish community, watching a sunset on the beach. I also like to garden and mow the lawn. When any of our adult children join us in any of these activities, it’s an extra blessing.

We are working in the yard and garden. We are not going on a trip this year. They are coming to visit us.

“How do you enjoy the summer months?” Advisedly, and with plenty of sunscreen!

I enjoy being on the lake with family and friends. It gets so hot and humid here that the only way to enjoy outdoors involves water of some sort be it the lake, a swimming pool, etc.

With my family, and because there’s many birthdays late in the summer, that portion is spent mostly on BBQs
