Miss Jones Baking Co – Brownie Mix and Salted Caramel Buttercream Frosting Review + Giveaway

One thing that I enjoy about reviewing items is to look at the packaging and using that to decipher what they are trying to convey to me and if I can guess the overall message.

I am not the only person who does this and, in fact, has been an aspect of advertising since the beginning of advertising. As time marches on and people are much more skeptical of a brands message and intentions, the art of packaging will be more important.

The simplicity of packaging can be simple colors and images, to convey the message needed. Recently I had the opportunity to review an organic mix and frosting combination from Miss Jones Baking Co. What immediately got my attention was the simplicity and color of the packaging, while remaining a standout among other baking products.

The products featured in this post were provided to me free of charge courtesy of Miss Jones Baking Co. This post may have affiliate links but this in no way will influence the review to follow and all opinions are my own.

I received box of Organic Brownie Mix and Salted Caramel Buttercream Frosting from Miss Jones Baking Co for tasting and review.

The first thing I made was the Organic Brownie Mix, which needed few ingredients to complete. The mix required eggs, oil and water, all of Miss Jones mixes only need these few ingredients. This is a mix made of pure and simple ingredients, and once I mixed was a easy mix to make. I wonder if I did something wrong because after mixing my batter it separated from the bowl, into a ball of brownie batter. I proceeded ahead and put the batter in my parchment paper lined pan and spread the mix as evenly as possible. I cooked it for 31 minutes and I removed the parchment and brownie from the pan to stop the cooking and start the cooling.

I waited about a hour for the brownies to cool, and then opened the Salted Caramel Buttercream Frosting. I smelled the caramel from the moment I opened the tub of icing. I took the suggestion on the package and let the frosting reach room temperature which ended up a very helpful suggestion that actually made the spreading of the frosting easier. The frosting proved easy to spread and looked nice on each brownie.

In the end the brownies were a bit flatter then the photo, but the frosting made up for them. It was nice to know with each bite that these brownies and frosting are certified organic and also does contain no hydrogenated oils, trans fats, or artificial colors and flavors. Each brownie is also Vegan, Dairy-free, and Soy-free. The frosting is certified organic and vegan, and Gluten-free, Soy-free, Dairy-free, Nut-free (and made in a nut-free facility) as well as containing no hydrogenated oils or trans fats or artificial colors or flavors.

The packaging is simple and the colors bright to grab attention to your eyes on an otherwise busy shelf. If you are looking for a good brownie and frosting made of organic ingredients this is what you have been looking for!
