Culinary Corner Review

Culinary Corner: Spatula, Silicone Mat and Ice Ball Review and Giveaway

Culinary Corner SetI readily admit that I am not much of a meal chef, but I am a baker. When I was a teenager my best friends and I would always make cookies late at night. I am not sure where or when this tradition started, but it stayed throughout our high school career.

Sadly those days are about 25 years behind me, but what is not behind me is my love of baking. I love baking so much that each year during the holidays I volunteer to make the bread that will be broken at our table. I know that sounds a little over dramatic for bread, but it is important to put love and care into the foods that we share.

An important element in cooking is the utensils that are used and the care taken combining and cooking the ingredients. I love to try new products and since I am still beginning to build my collection I was thrilled when I had the opportunity to review a couple of Culinary Corner’s products.

I received a couple of Culinary Corner’s products including a 3 piece Spatula set, Silicone Baking Mat and Ice Molds.

Culnary Corner Line UpEach of the items I received were of a high quality and a solid construction. The first items that I implemented into my cooking routine was the 3-piece Silicone Spatula set. I did not know really what to expect, as my experience with spatulas is somewhat limited still. This set comes with 3 different sizes – a small, medium and large. The small and medium spatulas are rounded on one side and at a 90 degree angle on the other which makes this versatile for use in a food processor or a square pan. The third spatula in this set is the result if a spoon and spatula mated and great for taste testings. These are a really nice powder blue spatula with a clear handle, which makes it colorful and noticeable in an otherwise muted collection of utensils.

Now, after I tested the spatulas I needed to bake my treat and lucky for me I was also given the opportunity to test Silicone Baking Mat. This mat is a 16×11 mat and fits most cookie sheets (be sure to measure your cookie sheet to ensure a fit). This is a non-stick mat that is 100% top rack dishwasher safe and can tolerate temperatures up to 480 degrees (which most baking tops out at 450 degrees so you should be covered). I had never used a mat before and I am happy to say that this was much easier then then typical spray on the pan. I think my biggest challenge will be to remember to use this when we make cookies.

The final item that I received was a set of Ice Ball/Sphere Mold’s. The funny thing about this is that Jason and I had just seen a video that cats love ice balls, so we were considering purchasing a set of these to make these balls for the cats. We froze two balls to try these, and while we have not given them to the cats yet, I think they will be a hit! I wish I could tell you how long it took to freeze these, but I can tell you I let them sit overnight in the freezer. What I appreciated is that the balls were easy to remove from the mold, and sustained no damage from removal.

If you are looking for high quality baking and freezing items (did I mention that the mat is freezer safe?!) I highly recommend Culinary Corner’s products, plus each items comes with a lifetime guarantee – you have nothing to lose!
