Cat Lady Box Monthly Subscription Review: November 2015

Cat Lady Box Monthly Subscription Review and Giveaway – November 2015

Cat Lady Box November 2015November is a month of reflection and giving thanks for the positive (and negative) things in your life. There are 3 things in my life that I am particularly thankful for – the first two are my husband Jason and my father. The third thing that I am thankful for is Maggee and Murfee – my two cats.

There are many reasons that I am thankful for my cats but mostly because when I am having a particularly hard day they seem to be aware. There are times that I am stressed or under a deadline and they give me a look or a head bump as if to tell me “I’m here for you my human”. It is nothing short of amazing and something to be thankful for, not only in November, but year round.

Cat Lady Box Before and AfterThis celebration of thanks and is a monthly occurrence with Cat Lady Box. I am very pleased to say that this is the sixth month and it is “absolutely meowvalous”. Each month it is just as good as the previous month, (see previous reviews here). This month the box exterior looked different then the previous printed and stamped versions and included a solid box design. This is a great upgrade and the black was solid throughout and just made me more excited to delve into the box.

As it is each month, this months contents were catered to me and my feline companions and included the following:

Cat's Are My Bag Tote by Xenotees“Cats Are My Bag” Tote by Xenototes: This is so cute I almost have no words! This is a black tote that is about 15×20 in size with the lettering in gold. The best part is that each one of these bags are printed by the owner, so there is a personalization with the bag. I plan to use this bag to hold my coupon binder, since it is the one thing that never has a proper home.

Kitty Keychain by The EmpurriumKitty Keychain by The Empurrium: This is a hand-cut and hand-sewn. This is one of many items available from the creator at her store “The Empurrium”. This is as cute in person as it is in the photos and is strong enough to stand-up being in my pocket.

Watch Drumstick and Treats for November Cat Lady BoxLeopard Cat Watch for Cat Lady Box: This is so cute and perfect for the watch wearing cat lover. The watch face is a cat face with two cute ears, with a stainless steel case and gold-toned hardware, quartz movement and has a leopard band. This is not a waterproof watch, but is water-resistant. but I would avoid any interaction with water if you can help it.

Cloud 9 Cat Treats- What The Fish? These are cat head shaped treats in a fish flavor. Murfee is a bit picky of a treat eater, but Maggee likes just about any treat you throw her way and this treat was no exception! Maggee enjoyed these but if I had to guess, she only mildly enjoyed them as she left some on the ground which she normally does not do, but she did try them. Cloud 9 has two other variations available including Egg-splosive (which Maggee and Murfee have tried and were lukewarm about) and Chick n’ Kick ( which I suspect Murfee may love since he LOVES chicken based treats).

Catnip Drumstick by Housecat Club: How much more Thanksgiving could this be – a drumstick! This is stuffed with potent organic catnip that is hand sewn, vegan and made with 100% recycled materials. The best part about it being handmade is that each one is unique – just like real turkey legs. My catnip loving Murfee loved this and it made him feel a part of Thanksgiving, at least I think it did.

Francesca Rizzato Gold Cat PrintPostcard – by Francesca Rizzato: This postcard doubles on its opposite side as a manifest listing the products contained in the box. The first thing I thought when I looked at the photo was it was a gold photo of my Maggee – the silhouette looks just like her! Each month contains a postcard featuring a new cat print, and each month is different from the previous months. I plan to make a collage framed print from my collection so that I can make many postcards into one piece of art.

I often wonder how monthly boxes are able to continue providing a high quality product, at the very narrow margins that they are working with and this box is no different. The box always contains a manifest of contents and the retail value of these items. As it is at times, the published price and the actual price are different. This month this situation arose with the watch – the retail value was $29.99 but when I linked it I found it in the $5-10 price point. While the product is of value, the actual cost varies greatly and therefore effects of the box is a good deal or not.  That being said, many times value is not only perceived, but worth it to many people – it us up to the receiver to decide ultimate value. That being said I have said that if I was able I would give this box to all of my cat loving friends and I still feel that same way. This box is a fun adventure for cat fans, and cat lady’s alike!

It is an added bonus to the cat community that each month 5% of profits go to cat rescues. Cat Lady Box also gives subscribers an opportunity to nominate an organization to be a beneficiary of Cat Lady Boxes generosity.

Also available are 1 month gift subscriptions, perfect for a cute and unique gift!

My cat Michonne was named appropriately. Just like her name sake she is small but she packs a punch. She does not take any thing from the other cats that are twice her size. But she can be a sweet cuddle bug too.

  2. Kimberly Hilbert

My Frankie is a celebrity in our house. He is called “Business Cat”. There is no celebrity worthy of being compared to Little Frank.

  3. Jaime Love

My cat Preshus would be like Kim Kardashian – always has to have her long fur perfectly brushed, must be on a lap at all times, and is the princess in our home.

  4. Dana

My cat would be a detective from law & order-hes very curious and has to know what’s going on.

  5. Debbie F

My cat would be John Candy (when he was alive) – he’s pudgy, he’s funny, very friendly, gentle, and he has those eyes, those “what? what did I do?” eyes. 😀
    thanks!

  6. Amanda

My cat is already named after a celebrity- Ian Somerhalder – because he has the same bright blue eyes and is a flirt.

  7. Krystine

My cat Cinder would be Lady Gaga. You’re never quite sure what to expect, but whatever she does, it leaves you questioning.

  8. Linda Szymoniak

Gee, I don’t know. I’d say my Moko would be Sandra Bullock.

  9. Addie F.

My cat Finn is named after a cartoon character named Finn in a show called Adventure Time, because he’s very childlike and adventurous!

  10. wen budro

Hmmm….great question. I think that my cat would be a spoiled diva like Kim Kardashian.

  11. Melissa S

My cat would be Greta Garbo, she loves to be admired but mostly wants to be left alone.

  12. ellen beck

I have 5 cats but I will pick Spyder. He is silly. I would think he would be a comedian. I think he would be Chris Rock. He is naughty at times but funny as can be.

  13. Deborah Bingham

My cat would be the most famous street crier. 🙂 She reminds me of them in British movies.

  14. Deborah Bingham

lol I meant “town crier”. Been awhile since I’ve seen any of those movies. 🙂

  15. Tasha Wilkerson

Ellen Degeners! SHe has so much personality!! ANd she loves to pop out and scare people!

  16. Arica Hutchins

I just love kitties. My kids have such passion for them. Theres a lot of strays where we live and they cry for thembut we took our shed and made them a nice cozy home. This would be great for our Ava

  17. Mary Fagans

Well, our Blaze would be Prince Harry. Blaze has red fur (hair) like Prince Harry & he often lays down with his front paws crossed like he thinks he is royalty!!

  18. Emilee Bond

We always joke that she’s an old lady (even though she isn’t) because she always wants us to pick her up instead of her jumping up to our lap or a high place, and walks slowly when we need her out of the way, and complains if she’s laying on us and we move even an inch lol. She’s awesome. I want to say she’s an old lady celebrataty but I cant think of one that fits her perfectly lol.
