My cat was soo talkative, especially when I had been gone for a while. He would meow at me for half a hour.

“Does your cat “talk” to you? What do they say?” The cat communicates, but does not use words and phrases.

Oh yeah, my cat is very vocal when she wants treats and when I come home she runs up and meows to greet me and to let me know she wants pats.

Maddie sounds like she’s saying hello to me when I say hello to her. Otherwise, she talks to me in a sweet voice (she is a stray I’ve taken in and looks like a Ragdoll, although I doubt she could be – she definitely has the gentle tones of a Maine Coon).

Oh he is very talkative all the time! He loves watching the birdfeeder and the squirrels…and chit chatting with them. Wish I knew what he was saying!!!

My cats talk, and one of them will answer me if I talk to him. I don’t know what he is saying because I don’t speak “cat”. πŸ™‚

My cat tells me that he is never satisfied with his food…he always wants to switch up and try something different. He will also loudly tell me when the water dish is empty!!

Does your cat “talk” to you? What do they say?

Yes.They talk! One cat Ozzzy the 18 year old starts talking headbutting etc at 7am- its all about the wet food. Spyder talks, he wants tap water FRESH, Minie talks, she wants a belly rub, Keesta talks, she wants to be told how pretty she is (she is vain) and Angus talks to me or to the dog, usually about wanting to play.
Even the outside ferals alk- its feed me quicker lay, I got stuff to do, and I smell something in the crockpot is that for us too?

I want a cookie, Why can’t I go outside with the dogs, and Why am I not a real baby? Those are the 3 most common phrases we hear around here lol

Yes, he talks to me. (And I meow right back.) I usually interpret his speech as “Feed me now – I’m starving!” (far from it…), “Why are you silly people still in bed?” (followed IMMEDIATELY by “feed me, I’m starving!”), “Why aren’t you PETTING me? I am FAR more important than your computer, or book, or whatever else you are doing. (Especially paperwork — plop down on top of any paperwork with a self-satisfied “Aren’t I clever” smirk.) and “You don’t really expect me to DO something with that – what did you call it, cat toy?” (He has NO interest in ANY kind of cat toy. even the feather dangling from the wand. He sees it and immediately lies down on his side and watches my HAND. If the feather TOUCHES him, he MIGHT reach out a paw, but otherwise, nothing.)
