8 Crayola Items Adults Will Love and Kids Will Want For Back to School + Giveaway

Crayola Opening PhotoOne of my favorite things to do when I was a kid was my yearly back to school shopping. My father would gather the list of needed supplies for the upcoming year and we would venture to the local members only warehouse and the local office supply store.

As I reflect back on those days I miss them and wish I could go shopping for school supplies again. Since I am an adult, and my schools days are behind me I have to find other excuses to indulge in Crayola products. I recently received a box full of items for that back to school time of year and I wanted to share some of my favorites with you.

Crayola 96 Crayon SetCrayola has been in the crayon industry since 1903, when they recognized the need for safe, high-quality, affordable wax crayons. In 1903 there were 8 crayons per set, and in 1992 the Crayola Classic Color Pack of 96 Crayons was introduced, which happens to be one of my favorite sets!

Super TipsAs a crafter one essential item everyone should have in their artist arsenal is a comprehensive set of markers. The 50ct Washable Super Tips are the perfect markers for almost any project. They can be used in thin or thick lines, have color coordinated caps to make for easy color identification and they don’t bleed through (be sure to test a small area before you move ahead on any project).

Dry Erase Crayons OpenI recently purchased a dry erase board to keep my work flow in order. I do not mind using the pens included but sometimes it is nice to use something different. When I received the Crayola Large Dry Erase Crayons – 8 pack I was eager to add some color to my otherwise white board. These worked really well and as an added bonus come with a cloth to wipe them off the board and built-in sharpener. This set is primary colors consisting of red, orange, yellow, blue, green, purple and black.

Metallic Marker Colors setSince I am fan of all types of color this included metallic colors and the new Crayola Metallic Markers – 8 Pack has a nice metallic collection that coordinate well with the pens. These new pens come in 8 colors including Purple Steel, Copper Mine, Green Machine, Slick Silver, Gold Ingot, Pink Bling, Black Iron and Cobalt Blue. I loved all of these but my favorite color is the Cobalt Blue!

Doodle Scent Scented MarkersWhen I was young I had a set of pens that had scent with them. I am so excited that Crayola has their own version of these called the Crayola Doodle Scents Markers. These come in 18 pack and each color has their own smell. I would advise not sniffing these for long period of times, but a quick smell should not cause any headaches. Some of the colors/scents available are Strawberry Fields, Root Beer Float, Lemonade Stand, Tropical Punch and Buttered Popcorn.

Power LinesI love to make signs when we go to the Charger games and the Power Lines Washable Scented Markers are going to be perfect to use to create. These are the perfect size to give a nice thick line or thin line. These have a larger tip, so perfect for signs, lettering or crafts.

PipSqueeks Pen SetIf you want a cute marker set that you can take on the go with you, I would say the Crayola Washable Pip Squeak Markers are the perfect set. These come in either thin tip or broad line and would be a cute set to put in a pouch with a coloring book for on the go coloring.

Markers 10 setMy final suggestion is the always Classic 10ct Broad Line Markers. I know when I think of markers, these are the first ones that come to mind. These are Made in the USA and are the classic colors in a broad line. These are not washable, so more care needs to be taken when using them. This is a overall terrific set!

I have loved crayola since I was a kid, and personally think that there is nothing better than a new set of crayons!
