Cat Lady Box Monthly Subscription Review and Giveaway – May/Cat Mom’s Day 2016

While I have not had the best history with mothers in my life, I can see the love and see how a mothers love is irreplaceable. Due to my shaky history with my own mother I think at times i might over compensate with Maggee and Murfee.

Let me explain a little further to bring some clarity. I was raised from a young age by my father and while I learned many valuable lessons, I did miss my mother. It was made clear early on that my mother wanted nothing to do with me, and while this was hurtful, it ended up being for the best. I did not have an example of a mother, so I base my experience on snippets of mom’s i have seen my life.

At times I think this has worked well, and it really is a broad example base. Recently Jason has made comments and dropped words such as “helicopter” and “smother and mother”. I think during this time of year, as much as I love the moms in my life, I overcompensate with my two cats. Lucky for me they seem to love the love!

It was announced that this months Cat Lady Box would have a “Mothers” theme, and they delivered. To say that each box is “pawsome” is an understatement. Each month is better than the last, (see previous reviews here). The box exterior is printed with the logo in black and is almost a proud announcement of your Cat Lady status. Once the box is open, you are greeted with a black tissue with a sticker enclosing everything in the box. The box is packaged well, and there is space enough that items do not get smooshed and smashed together.

This months contents were catered to me and my feline companions and included the following:

T-shirt – Mother of the Worlds Cutest Cat Shirt: I love a good soft t-shirt, and this is no different. This is a comfortable shirt that feels like I have owned ir for year, despite the fact that I just got it! Cat Lady Box held a contest for this design and this one was chosen for it’s sweet playfulness. Due to the exclusive nature of this shirt, it is only available in Cat Lady Box.

Mug – Worlds Best Cat Mom Mug: I just have to say that I love this mug – and yes, I am the mother of the worlds best cat(s). On top of stating the obvious, this mug is dishwasher and microwave-safe. This was immediately put into my mug rotation and will serve as a reminder, even if my cats can not tell me themselves (I know they are thinking it).

Shining Star Cat Earrings: When I was young I got my ears pierced – this was not a positive memory and to this day I had a strange aversion to earrings. I have had pierce ears almost my whole life and the amount of earrings i wore/wear are very limited (not even on my wedding day). I do have a cat lover or two in my life, and this These Shining Star Cat Earrings are cute, and would be perfect for any ears pierced cat lovers. Also, you can take the earring portion off and attach it to a long chain and create a necklace!

*CAT TOYS* Catnip Heart and Happy Flower: The two toys included this month was a heart and a crinkly flower. I love the heart, and it is the perfect size for Murfee to use his paws to manipulate the toy how he wants it. The crinkle heart, made by Loopies, is a happy faced flower. Truth be told, I think this will sit on my work desk and maybe one day the cats will get it. Until then I plan to enjoy it’s happy face!

Maya Mladenovic: This months Cat Lady Artists combines human faces with feline eyes and creates a compelling, and interesting photo. I love the artists each month and this month is no different. Included in each months box is a postcard featuring a new cat print, and each month is different from the previous months.

As most of these items are made special for CatLadyBox it is hard, if not impossible, to locate them outside the monthly box subscription. If I was able to locate the items, then I have included the links for you to possibly purchase them without a box subscription.

As time passes, these boxes really do get better with time. Each month there are items that are exclusive to the box and it’s subscribers. In my opinion, as the box gains momentum that will become the normal each month. My advice is to subscribe, and I know that you will LOVE IT!!!
