Pet Treater Monthly Subscription Box Review and Giveaway – December 2015
When I was in my early 20’s we had a family dog named Poco (short for Pocohontas). Poco was a black lab with some retriever in her – she was a smart dog. Sadly, on Easter weekend in 2006 it was discovered she had a tumor and she quickly went downhill. It began with her not knowing how to jump into the back of the car and ended with her making circles upon circles with no break. She ended up being carried outside in the sun, and while my father held her, I held her snout, and we said our goodbyes. The next thing I remember is being asked if we wanted her paw print for posterity, and that was that – our family dog was gone. It was sad, and sudden – she is missed to this day!
Given the sudden way my father lost his beloved dog, I was unsure he would ever get another dog. Then about 2 months ago he mentioned that he might be ready, after all it has been over 9 years since we lost our beloved Poco. My father decided he wanted a puppy and for it to be a Australian Labradoodle. While surprised it took him so long to get another animal, I am thrilled to officially announce that we again have a dog in our family – Meadow.
Meadow was 9 weeks old on her arrival into my father’s life, and I can honestly say 6 weeks later they are the best of friends. Since she is a puppy and there is a lot of trial and error in her preferences towards toy and treats, I thought a monthly box might be a nice solution. I reached out to Pet Treater to inquire about a possible box for Meadow, and they were generous enough to send me their December box for review.
This is my second Pet Treater review, as the previous time I reviewed the large dog box. This time the box was the December box and it was “pawsome”! Here is a breakdown of the items that were in my Pet Treater box:
Multipet International Loofa Santa: This 12 inch toy barely made it out of the box, Meadow was so intrigued by it she ran away with it. The cats have the cat version of this toy and they love it!
Exclusive Dog – Harvest Blends: These are natural treats that are sweet potato flavor chewy treats. I think Meadow may need to refine her taste buds cause despite these smelling good, she was not interested. My father is going to save them and try them when she is a little older.
Stars Wars Leash – 3/4 x 6FT Long: This was such a cool items, I honestly was shocked when my father said he wanted to keep it for Meadow. I learned that not only is his dog growing each day, but he is a Star Wars fan!
Wool Squeak Toy: This was another toy that barely made it out of the box. Meadow took this and ran around the corner, which is where I was able to snap this photo of the little thief! Then she discovered it squeaks and my father discovered one of her loves in life: Squeaky Toys
Nature Recipe – Oven Baked Chewy Treats: These Venison Recipe contains no corn, no wheat, no artificial colors or flavors. These are the best kind of treats to feed our furry pals – the purest products available. These are another that will be for Meadow’s visitors until she ages a bit.
Crunch Card: This is a edible card for your dog, and while they usually do no include rawhide in their monthly boxes, this card was to cute for them to pass up. This has not been consumed as of yet, but will be a cute card from Meadow to her doggie friends. Bandana: This is such a cute bandana and makes Meadow an honorary reindeer – as if she needs to be any cuter! Paper Craft Holiday Cards: Each month Pet Treater includes a treat for human. This months “human treat” was a 12 pack of holiday cards. This was the perfect inclusion and allowed Meadow to send holiday cards to all her new human friends.

Monthly subscriptions are $24.99/month – month to month, $22.99/month – 3 month membership, $21.99/month – 6 month membership every other month and $19.99/month – 12 months membership, and $34.99/month for a one month try and shipping is included in the cost each month. My husbands little dog likes to wrap around his neck on his recliner and if she wants something, to get his attention she licks at his nose.
She like to be wrapped up in blankets! We bundle her (like a burrito) and she goes to sleep!

When she tries reaaaaaaaally hard to shake my hand when Im eating dinner so I will give her a bite! (the hand shake was the first trick she learned so she always tries it when she wants a snack!)

We had a funny moment on Christmas morning! We got up and asked our great dane what Santa had brought for her and she immediately went to her stocking. Now, she has never had a stocking before and we didn’t even show her the stocking beforehand! It was so funny and cute.
He herds the cats into the corner.
Quinn, our Corgi/Shepard, wipes her face all over the carpet after eating. She snuffles while she does it too. Gross or polite? Who knows…
He likes to chase his tail
She refused to eat unless she has cheese in her dog food.
My German Shepherd/Labrador loves to give his paw. Constantly. And then he just stares at you while you hold his hand!

The funniest thing my dog does is drag himself off the bed. xD
My dog Maddy loves to lay across the room and when you’re not looking, she slides herself forward. Every time you look she is a little bit closer til you feel her at your feet. She’s good at not letting you see her move.
I have 3 dogs. One of them loves to steal socks off of your feet to play with.

The funniest thing my dog does is chasing her tail!
I have a little dog and when he gets excited he jumps up and down, sideways and backwards. It is hilarious to watch.
She likes to put toys on her nose and walk around.
Our Westie Charlie would gently hold the hem of my maxi skirt in his mouth and walk along with me – rather like we were “holding hands” as we walked together.
My dog doesn’t really do anything funny.
My dogs wrestle all day, but when it is time for bed they curl up together. We think it’s funny that they “argue” all the time but can’t sleep without each other. 🙂
My dog drools all the time – well anytime the humans are eating food. I don’t really find it entertaining, but my husband thinks it’s hilarious.

My daughters dog runs around chasing my 18 month old granddaughter. He will do this until she stops running, the longest was 30 minutes. Pooped them both out. She laughs and squeals while he barks. Its funny if you are there. Thank you for the chance 🙂
My 2 old ladies don’t do much funny stuff anymore but when they were younger……My ShihTzu loved the snow. She would bunnyhop across the field and sometimes sit on her behind and raise her body so she could look out over the field. It was adorable and comical.
The funniest thing my dog has ever done was that he ate a flower pedal. lol. Omg, I started bursting out laughing!! 🙂

My baby girl a large Rottie, sleeps with me in a twin bed. Every morning I awake pushed up against the wall with a large dog head laying above my head on MY pillow. But, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Love love love my baby girl.

We have a german shepard named Maggie. Pretty much everything she does is funny to us but the funniest for me is when she chases her tail as though it has offended her.
He has the funniest sounding play growl. It does not sound like any dog I have every heard.
The funniest thing my dog does is after a bath when he runs around like a crazy dog! It’s called the “zoomies!”

My dog, Bubba, will just sit there and hit his squeaker toys with his nose just to make them squeak. He does this over and over again. It makes me laugh.
My dog, Rex, rolls over on his back, no matter where he is to have his belly scratched, If you don’t scratch it, he slaps your leg with his paw!

The funniest thing my dog does is he pushes a soccer ball around the back yard with his nose….and he makes this funny noise while he does it… it is really cute!
My dog, Summer, likes to put her tennis ball under the rug and then dig like she’s really after something way, way under the rug. She lays on her side and just goes to town – searching for that ball….
He bounces down the hall every morning and howls for breakfast. He absolutely loves greeting each morning.
