Savannah Bee Company Review and Giveaway
I am a fan of honey- the best is when at the bottom of hot tea the hunk of honey! My father swears by Manuka honey from everything from scratches to burns. Jason and I are much more skeptical and tend to buck against fads and the like, which honey tends to fall into. The reality is that once I began looking at all the things that honey can be used for, I am left wondering if there is anything that honey can NOT do?
The products featured in this post were provided to me free of charge courtesy of Savannah Bee Company. This post may contain affiliate links, but this in no way influences the review to follow.
The package I recently received from Savannah Bee Company is a great example of the wide range uses of honey, from body wash to medicinal use. Savannah Bee Company sent me the following items for review:
Tupelo Honey Body Wash and Tupelo Honey Lotion: I received the 8 oz bottles of these. The Tupelo Honey Body Wash was one of the BEST smelling body washes I have ever smelled. The smell was never over-powering but subtle and in the background. The Tupelo Honey Lotion smelled just as good as the Body Wash and again the smell was more mild and perfect for somebody who does not like overpowering scents. The lotion was not wet, and yet still felt moisturizing. It did not have a wet residue but retained its pleasant smell.
Spun Cinnamon Honey: This is a 12oz glass bottle that is simply yummy. I used this on a peanut butter sandwich and it was one delicious sammy. This is currently unavailable on their website, but I suspect that all of the items are just as tasty and you could not go wrong with any other product.
Propolis Throat Spray: I received a 1oz Propolis Throat Spray that contains not only the honey resins but Echinacea – to help strengthen your immune system and Pelorgonium Root – to assist in respiratory health. It is flavored to be strong and minty and that is a good description. At first pump the strong and minty taste comes in loud and clear. The Propolis Throat Spray is made of Propolis which is a substance that is created by bees when the collect resins producted bt plants and combining them with enzymes and beeswax. Due to honey’s antimicrobial properties allow this to be used on mouth ulcers and skin irritations as well as a throat spray.
The Savannah Bee Company has been in the honey and beekeeping business for over 35 years, and opened their storefront and online store in 2002 selling products made from the honey they collect.
Here are a couple fun facts I discovered about bees:
- The honey bee has been around for over 150 million years!!!
- It is the only insect that produces food eaten by man
- It takes only one ounce of honey to fuel a honey bees trip around the world.
- Honey is the only food to contain all substances to sustain life – including water!
After reading the learning more about honey for this review, I am now convinced that there is nothing that honey can not do. I can tell you that I will be using honey and utilizing the many benefits that honey contains.
