Fix-It and Forget-It Slow Cooker Magic: 550 Amazing Everyday Recipes Review and Giveaway

Fix-It and Forget-It Slow Cooker MagicBack many moons ago, during my bridal shower to my first husband I received 3 identical crock pots. We had registered for one, ended up with three. Flash forward one divorce and one marriage later I again have 3 crock pots, but this time they are not all the same make and model. Through the merging of items and a wedding, Jason and I have been able to collect three different size crock pots.

The three crock pots we have vary in size, which makes this a versatile house. The three we own are a Crock Pot 6 Quart slow cooker, a Procter Silex 3 quart and Procter Silex 1.5 quart slow cookers. Having these three crock pots/slow cookers gives us the ability to make just about anything. which lead me to discovering The Fix-It and Forget Slow Cooker Magic: 550 Amazing Everyday Recipes by Phyllis Good and published by GoodBooks and Skyhorse Publishing.

The Fix-It and Forget Slow Cooker Magic: 550 Amazing Everyday Recipes is full of over 550 recipes for you to get the most our of your slow cooker – no matter what the size or your tastes. The book recipes are printed on a high quality paper and held together with a comb binding and each recipe has clear concise directions. There are bright-colored pictures throughout the book and each section is clearly marked. Each page varies from one recipe to three depending on what the ingredient and preparation entails. This book is about 8 1/2 by 10 size and lays flat no matter what page you are on.

Fix-it and Forget-it Slow Cooker MagicEverything you could possibly make is included in this book. The book is divided into sections depending on what you are cooking and include Appetizers, Snacks, Spreads, Beverages, Breakfasts, Breads, Soups, Stews, Chili’s, Chicken Main Dishes, Turkey Main Dishes, Beef Main Dishes, Pork Main Dishes, Pasta, Grains, Meatless, Seafood, Vegetables, Side Dishes, Sweets and Desserts. If that is not enough the book also includes basics that help you cook from scratch, metric equivalent measurements and substitute ingredients when you are mid meal and out of a crucial ingredient.

I plan to use each one my crock pots with a recipes from this book. I will give you all a hint on the first thing I am going to make – Moroccan Soup in honor of my sister-in-law and her family. I will keep you posted how it turns out!

The Fix-It and Forget Slow Cooker Magic: 550 Amazing Everyday Recipes is a must have for anyone with a crock pot or slow cooker! I would buy them together for the ultimate in wedding housewarming or just because gifts!

So far, I don’t do too many crock pot recipes, but I NEED to. I still work part time and I still want a home-cooked meal when I get home. I have so far, used my slow cooker for the long cooking of cuts of meats, makes them tender. And pot roast, some chicken recipes… I need and want this book.

I made a pot roast this week that my family just gobbles up! Sauce has marsala wine, ketchup, worchesire sauce and garlic.
