Pet Gift Box – Cat – Subscription Box – July Review
Fitness is not a world that is used often around this house, unless it is in direct relation to our cats. We have made the choice to keep our cats as indoor cats, therefore fitness and nutrition are even more important than if they were outside playing all day.
We are always looking for ways for them to do what we call “the magic three” which are hunt, eat and sleep. The idea is that they hunt their prey (or toy) and once they have gotten it, we feed them a treat or wet food (or direct them to their dry food) so they can “eat” their kill and then they fall asleep from the hunt. We look for toys that will encourage that and support that behavior in the Muggles.
Knob Goblin – $5.99: This toy attached to a door knob or handle. This toy has a great springing ability and has a noise rattle inside that gives the cats even more reason to attack the toy. I think the reason that Murfee loved it so much is because of the included catnip – he loves catnip!
Swat N’ Bobble Octopus – $5.99: This silly looking faced toy has a suction cup that attached to many different surfaces (I attached it to my wood floor, sliding glass window and wood cabinet siding). The downside is that if your cat is a ferocious player like our cats then they will inevitably knock the toy down, thus ending the fun for them. After I put the suction cup where I wanted it I just put two small pieces of tape on the side to hold in place. Bonus for my catnip loving boy Murfee because cat nip is included in this toy.
Play Cave Tunnel – $3.99: We have seen these in pet stores and always wondered how the cats would react to one. I am so happy to report that they loved it and both cats wanted to take ownership of it, which by the end of the night Maggee had done – she fell asleep on the toy to prevent Murfee from playing with it.
Cloud 9 Eggsplosive Treats – $5.22: These are cat head shaped treats that my cats were lukewarm about. As I have mentioned in the past (click here to see that review) Murfee is a picky eater and getting him to try treats is a feat in of itself. Maggee on the other hand had a couple but opted for other treats. I am guessing that it is the egg flavor that made them apprehensive, as they do not really have made egg based treats. These treats are low calories (only 2.1 per treat) and are high in protein.
Knock Out Treat Dispenser – $5.03: This is an egg shaped treat dispenser toy. The basic idea is that the human loads the toy with treats and then the feline plays to dispense the treats. This is a SmartyKat product and what that means is that this toy is made to satisfy your cats needs for treats. Each SmartyKat product focuses on another physical, emotional or instinctual need therefore each toy they make meets one or more of these needs.
I love getting this box and seeing what theme and toys are included and I recommend this box to any cat lover, as well as anyone who would love to get a box of cat toys in a box delivered each month! I am a big believer in giving my indoor cats just as much stimulation indoors as they could get outdoors and Pet Gift Box helps me achieve that goal. The Muggles loved all the toys in this months box and Jason and I agreed it was a HUGE win for them!
The total value of this box came to $26.22 vs the $27.99 monthly cost which equals a gain of $1.77 – a breakeven type of value! Despite the low margin of gain, I highly recommend this box to all cat and dog lovers and all animal guardians.
Each month you can choose if you want a cat or dog themed box and monthly subscriptions are $29.99/month – pay as you go, $22.99/month – 3 month membership, $19.99/month – 6 month membership, $17.99/month – 12 months membership and shipping is included in the cost each month.
