Escape Box Luxe Monthly – May – Subscription Box Review
Let’s be honest, vacations are not only expensive but for many people an impossibility. From the time off requests, to the loss of pay, the costs of hotel and eating there is just not enough resources to go on a vacation.
Escape Monthly Luxe box contains more than 12 regional items for the location of that months box. These are items made locally and are handcrafted, locally made and often locally sourced. This months theme was the Rocky Mountains and features destination inspired goodies from the chosen area, The box was packed full of goodies such as:
Centential Keychain – $ 4.95 : From National Park Bark, this is a keychain celebrating the 100th birthday of the Rocky Mountain National Park (1915 – 2015). It measures to a 1 1/4 inches square, made of sustainable hardwood.
Salus Bath Bomb – $2.95 : This is a bath bomb (a 2cm golf ball sized fizzy for the bathtubs and baths). There are more than 30 scents available, while we received “Mountain Mint” scented bomb.
Adventure Ecopack – $ 4.95 : This SPF 30 sunscreen comes with a carabiner attached for easy storage. It is water resistant for up to 40 minutes and comes in a refillable pouch. This was not super greasy and would be good for car trips in which you are exposed to excessive amounts of sun.
Goat’s Milk Lotion – $ 4.25 : We received the Bear Lake Raspberries scented lotion. The bottle we received as 1/2 the size of the retail at 4 ounces. This came in a wonderfully blue-bottle, with a flip top for easy application. After immediate application there was a minor greasy feeling but that was a fleeting feeling and after a minute or so my hands were dry.
Butcher’s Bunches – Sample Size: We received the “Dirty Diana” variety that is made of Montmorency cherries, pectin, passion fruit rum, nutmeg and sea salt.
Sierra Nevada Soap Company – $ 6.50: This is a Rosemary/Lavender bar of soap that smells so good, in fact it was the first thing I smelled when I opened the box. The Lavender and Rosemary are known to be both purifying and restorative, giving a double punch to the user.
Kate’s Stash Bar – $2.79 :We received the Peanut Butter Dark Chocolate bar and it was beyond yummy. I split it with Jason and Immediately wished i saved it all for myself! These will be purchased for our house soon,
Moon Guide Book – $ 15.48: Included in the box was a Montana and Wyoming Guide Book by Moon. Jason has family in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and with a visit needed in the future this will be a perfect travel accessory.
Rocky Mountain Root Beer – $ 3.87: For some reason I can not imagine a box from the Rocky Mountain region without a Rocky Mountain made root beer. This is a gluten free, No GMO’s, Vegan, Kosher and Colorado made beverage that would be wonderful over a couple scoops of vanilla ice cream.
Wild West Chocolate – Howdy Bar – $ 3.50 : It is no secret that we love chocolate, in fact we love dark chocolate more than most other types of chocolate.
Also included in the Luxe box were the following items, cleverly placed in a separate box for packing and space purposes.
Black Squirrel Granola – $6.00 : We received the Maple Almond Pecan flavor, although it is also available in cherry pistachio and blueberry coconut flavored varieties. This is a simply made granola including oats, pecans, slivered almonds, organic maple syrup, organic extra virgin coconut oil, shredded coconut, pure vanilla extract, kosher salt. These are not gluten-free if that is a concern, but are handcrafted in Denver, Colorado.
Columbine Cornbread Mix – $5.50 : This cornbread mix is made by Timber Peaks Gourmet in Colorado using Non-GMO ingredients.
Trailhead Chai – $10.99 : We received the Lakewood Lemongreass, and while I have not tried this yet, it smells good and looks like when brewed it will make a solid flavorful Chai! There are many varieties available with clever names such as Backcountry Coconut Creme, Fireside White Chocolate, Horizon Hot Ginger, Outpost Orange and Happy Camper Cocoa.
Mountain Town Olive Oil Company – $ 5.95: We received the Viva Italia Blend which includes basil, oregano, fennel, garlic, red pepper flakes, salt, rosemary and thyme. The 1.25 oz container will provide a couple spice chances for use. This has an incredible smell and tasted like a well blended combination of spices.
Tile By Rivertime Designs – $8.50 : There are many variations on these, we received the Cottonwoods design. This is a 4″ coaster tile that would be perfect as a table accessory.
The total value of this box came to $94.13 vs the $ 69.95/month, a fantastic value! I highly recommend this box to people who want their own “staycation” at an affordable price delivered each month without leaving their house!
Escape Monthly boxes are available in the Escape Mini for $24.95/month, the Escape box for $49.95/month and the Escape Luxe for $69.95/month. The shipping is included and ships mid-month.
