Barron’s – Coloring Books – February 2017 – New Releases Review + Giveaway
When I was younger, I remember purchasing a book that would help me prepare for the SAT’s and the other testing I would need to attend college. The book company was Barron’s and they were/are the go to for test prep books. So naturally when I saw that they also have coloring books I was surprised.
As it turns out, they do the test prep books, but also have a full line of coloring books, Barron’s Educational Series is not only education but also robust in their coloring book selections.
The products featured in this post were provided to me free of charge courtesy of Barron’s Educational Series, Inc.. This post may have affiliate links but this in no way will influence the review to follow and all opinions are my own.
I received an assortment of Coloring Books that were released in February 2017 including the following titles.
Extreme Coloring Tattoos: Relax and Unwind, One Splash of Color at a Time – When I originally saw this book I was unsure what it would contain, but seeing the wide variety of tattoos that people get I was intrigued. As it turns out this book is full of dragons, angels, wolves and even Medusa – the original serpent-headed nightmare. There is also images of exotic orchids and a rising phoenix. At over 90 pages, there are many images that will keep your imagination flourishing.
Pads of Color – Dream Laugh Dance: Wonderful Quotes to Color, Decorate, and Give – which is a book of designs that include inspirational messages such as “Life is Now” with birds, flowers and hearts. The images in this book would be great to send to brighten someones day. Garden Dreams to Color immediately reminded me of flowers and that is exactly what the book contains. The images are of flowers, and wreaths and blossoms and even some butterflies. Zen Dreams is a variety of images including flowers and random shapes that will relax you and help you find your zen. Each of these books have 80 pages with perforations at the top that enable you to tear the pages cleanly and efficiently. These measure about 8×8 in size, making them a different then usual size.
Mini Pads of Color – Dreams of Flowers is a collection of flowers and blooms that vary in shapes and sizes. Mandala Delights takes a more magical theme with its natural images. Enchanting Mandalas is a collection of those wonderful images called mandalas, each one unique and inspiring. Sea of Flowers is a collection of floral designs that is truly a sea of flowers – each one gorgeous, waiting for color and full of floral. Each of these are 80 pages, one-sided images. These are smaller books measuring at 5 7/8 x 5 7/8 which make them the perfect on the go size.
Each of these books have a higher quality paper, but I would put a piece of paper in between the page you are coloring and the next image. These pages would look great being coloring with colored pencils or pens, crayons would be a bit difficult since some of the images have more of thin areas in places.
Personally I love coloring books, and I love the constant creativity that they provide – join me and get some books for yourself!
