Exotic Animal Designs: A Stress Relieving Adult Coloring Book Review and Giveaway

When Jason and I were kids we were surrounded by nothing but open land for as far as the eye could see.

There are stories of Jason bringing home buckets full of baby rattlesnakes. Apparently one afternoon Jason ventured into the wide open land we had and went snake hunting (he even had special pants for this endeavor). While he was hunting snakes he also came upon the all two common alligator lizard and blue belly lizards.

When I received a copy of Exotic Animal Designs: A Stress Relieving Adult Coloring Book by Blue Star Coloring I asked Jason to tell me the tales of his hours of snake hunting.

Exotic Animal Designs: A Stress Relieving Adult Coloring Book by Blue Star Coloring contains 35 different images that range in complexity gradually and progresses from beginner to expert-level difficulty. This coloring book has lizards, heli-monsters and other exotic animals that you only hear of on tropical islands.

While this book, does not lie flat, it does not affect the function of the book. If you open the book wide and press down on the interior spine you will be able to crack the binding. Otherwise the book will not stay open on it’s own and a weight on the non coloring side would be helpful. This is not a reason to bot get the book and honestly the worst that happens is that it makes coloring a little more challenging. and this in no way affects the book.

If you want to remove the pages please note that the book is bound similar to traditional books, so take care when removing the pages. I use my typical recommendation which is to be cautious when tearing or removing the page or use a cutting device such as scissors or a craft knife to get the page out since the images are close to the edges. Many of the pages cut close to the binding so take extra care when removing pages.

I would recommend placing a piece of paper under the page to be colored to avoid bleeding through to other pages. This also will assist in the prevention of creating impressions on the following pages from pressing down to hard – which I am guilty of.

I think my favorite thing about this book was that it sparked a conversation with Jason about the best time of his life. This book introduced me to exotic animals that I did not know existed and actually learned something. When imagination and memories combine and a coloring book can evoke emotions long forgotten – that is a winner!
