Paper Pumpkin – Bold Botanicals – August 2016 Kit Review and Giveaway
If there is one thing that is inevitable it is the passage of time. As I get older this becomes more and more evident with little reprieve. I feel as though it was only a couple of months ago I was thinking of fall, and the changing weather and leaves approaching.
As luck will have it, the August 2016 Paper Pumpkin kit “Bold Botanicals” is a subtle reminder of the upcoming fall season and the crisp leaves that accompany it. .
The products featured in this post were provided to me free of charge courtesy of Paper Pumpkin/Stampin’ Up, but this in no way will influence the review to follow and all opinions are my own.
This month is a kit that makes 3 different cards and is titled “Bold Botanicals“.
Each month I look forward to the 10 by 6.5 red box, to see what new project I will be embarking on. Each month the kit comes complete with the items you need to create the project for the month. Included in this months box was the following:
- Bold Botanicals Photopolymer Stamp Set
- Early Espresso Classic Stampin’ Spot Ink
- 6 Card Bases (2 sizes)
- 6 Envelopes (2 sizes)
- 3 Printed Note Cards
- 3 Printed Note Card Pockets
- 6 Printed Backgrounds
- 15 Printed Die Cut Elements
- 9 Laser-cut Wood Pieces
- 3 Clothespins
- 1 Yard Burlap Trim
- 6 Yard Brown Twine
- 50 Dimensional’s
- 75 Adhesive Dots
Included with each box are written instructions with full-color photos but also there is an instructional video available (Online Instructions) to help you complete the project each month.
This months stamp included stamps that are geared towards the greeting and patterned side with greetings to send to the recipient. The set includes 5 word/phrase stamps and then 2 stamps that are more on the background texture. These 8 clear polymer stamps stick well on a clear block and are easy to use with the enclosed tags. Included was a stamp pad in Early Espresso, which is a brown color that is darker than a typical brown.
The general concept behind this months kit is that when completed you have 6 notecards and 3 note card pockets with inserts. The card are perfect for sending with a message and the note cards would make a nice addition on a gift.
The largest stamp in the collection has a corner shape with leaves and branches that is meant to be stamped on the patterned paper. The result is a image that looks more background than foreground.
What I loved about this kit was the laser-cut wood pieces, the detail is incredible and would add a nice pop to any items it is taken.
The instructions in this kit were easy to understand and follow. Also photos included were clear and even if omitted I would have been able to complete the kit.
The end result are 3 different patterned of handmade cards that are perfect for the upcoming fall holidays that you will be proud to share with your family and friends.
