As a blogger I spend many hours sitting and far less hours eating as healthy as I should. Many days convenience wins over substance and hunger wins over flavor.

There is a snack that breaks the consistency that convenience brings and also contains the flavor that hunger craves.

The ubiquitous snack I am referring to is JERKY! Now if you are like me, you are unaware that jerky comes in beef, chicken and bacon varieties.

One company is taking the meats that are staples for protein diets, and making them into tasty and flavorful jerky flavors. Chef’s Cut Real Jerky was generous enough to send me a Deluxe Variety Pack to sample, which my jerky loving husband was thrilled about.

Chef’s Cut Real Jerky sent me the following for review:

I received 8 flavors including the Traditional Flavors of Real Steak Jerky including the Original Recipe which was a nice beef jerky that was mild of flavor but very tasty. The Real Steak Jerky Chipotle Cracked Pepper which was a spicier jerky which was a little much for my stomach, but I still proceeded to eat it. The Real Chicken Jerky Honey Barbecue was sweet and very flavorful and tasted similar to the beef. The Real Chicken Jerky Buffalo Style was also a spicy variety, but I found myself eating it all up. The Real Turkey Jerky Teriyaki was so good I wish the bag was twice as much as it was. and had the perfect teriyaki flavor. I am a fan of all things bacon and this was no different. The Applewood Bacon was sweet. The Maple Bacon had a sweet tone as well with a nice candy shell on select pieces. The final flavor was Sriracha Bacon which reminded me of the sauce of the same name, and was very flavorful.

All of Chef’s Cut jerky is a slow smoked high protein gluten-free snack. Also there are no nitrates and each flavor is chef inspired.

Jason and I both loved this jerky and after the box was empty we were finding ourselves still wanting more. Do yourself a favor and buy multiple bags – you will want them!!

Whoohoo gluten free snacks!
My choices are limited when it comes to snacks – but jerky is something I can eat! yay!
I don’t usually take snacks with me anywhere so I’d say I’d just have these in the evenings when I’m hungry but don’t want to cook 🙂
