Daily Zen Doodles Review

Daily Zen doodles – 365 Tangle Creations for Inspiration, Relaxation and Mindfulness Review and Giveaway

Daily Zen DoodlesAs I have gotten older I have discovered that my brain does not shut off, despite my best efforts. I find that once my head hits the pillow that is when i get my greatest ideas. I mean, from to-do lists to posts that I have to write, the cure for writers block is to put my head on a pillow.

I try to categorize everything in my head, and I try to think of ways to shut my brain down but sadly I am less than successful. When all else fails hot tea can sometimes work (with a ton of melted honey).

It goes without saying that when I received for review and giveaway a copy of Daily Zen Doodles: 365 Tangle Doodles for Inspiration, Relaxation and Mindfulness by Meera Lee Patel, I was reminded of the gentle art of relaxation. More importantly, I thought that this might be this thing to quiet down that constant night chatter in my head.

Daily Zen Doodles: 365 Tangle Doodles for Inspiration, Relaxation and Mindfulness by Meera Lee Patel is over 376 pages of doodles meant to relax and inspire your mindfulness.

Collage Daily ZenEach page features a different doodle that allows you do add to the doodle in your own creative way. Since this is not a dated book, this is more perpetual and can be done once day, once a week, or randomly as you see fit. The key to this book is that is it flexible to what you want to do. Also included on each page is a quite with author, from such notable quote-makers like Henry David Thoreau and Mahatma Gandhi. Each doodle is designed just be a quick 15-20 minute escape into relaxation.

I chose to use this each night before I went to sleep, as the doodles can relax and lull me into slumber, I noticed that the nights I used this I had a more restful, peaceful minded sleep.

While I will never be able to completely silence my mind, I do not mind if I am able to take momentary escapes that include relaxation and freeing my thoughts.

Yesterday I was able to actually relax by the pool again! It was so peaceful listening to the little waterfall tinkle into the pool. I love relaxing there and by a campfire when camping. Both put me in a trance. 🙂
