BuddhiBox Monthly Subscription Review – December 2015 Box

BuddhiBox Monthly Subscription Review  – December 2015 Box

Buddhi Box December 2015 BoxWhen we are children we do not think that the words that people say to use can hurt us. The sad part is that words many times words can hurt more than the largest weapon. Each night we watch the news, and each night we marvel at the amount of crimes and stories that could have a different outcome had words been used instead of the alternative weapons.

I was a young girl when I learned that words can hurt and to choose my words wisely. I apply this to each aspect of my life, and I am blessed that my husband does the same. We were both bullied in school and now how kind words can make a world of change and mean words can ruin your day. That is one reason I look forward to my monthly BuddhiBox – these are messages that are important in the yoga and real world.

I recently received the December BuddhiBox and I am again pleased and thrilled. Earlier in the year, I had the opportunity to review previous boxes (click here) and they are always a fun adventure in the yoga/healthy living lifestyle. The message is always one of compassion, and understanding and living a pure life.

This month we are back to the familiar bright green tissue paper carefully covering this months treasures. This month came with 4 cardboard information cards that are in full color and on thick glossy card stock. The first card was the Yoga pose of “Garland Pose” that shows the pose in full color, as well as the benefits and directions about the pose. These pose cards are made especially for BuddhiBox by a company called Yogicards. There is a recipe for a “Broccoli Hemp Potato Salad” that is made using 15 ingredients – 6 being spices that when put together creates a fresh, healthy and flavorful salad. The final information card included was a box manifest and on the other side the following quote:

The heart that gives, gathers.  – Lao Tzu

I have included reviews of the items, included in the box were the following items:

Hara Healing Shop Lavendar Detox Scrub 1Hara Healing – Detox Scrub: This is a simple lavender detoxifying scrub. The scrub contains pink Himalayan sea salt, organic sweet almond oil, organic hemp seed oil, organic lavender essential oil, as well as natural fragrance and organic lavender flower. I learned that it is always important to read the labels of the items that you are about to use n your body – it is recommended not for use on the face (the company has a facial wash that can be used in its place). I loved the way that this smelled and it washed off my body easy and left my skin soft and felt renewed. I really loved this and just wish it was a larger size.

Ganesh Nail PolishRaga Varnish – Ganesh: This is such a pretty color, and was perfect for the holiday season. This shade was inspired by Ganesh, the Hindu God of Success and I think it helped bring me luck – we happened to win $5.00 in the lottery the day I put this on! It’s a creamy gray that goes on smooth and has a glossy finish. 5-free nail polish. Made in USA. Proceeds from this support Elephant Family, an organization to protect elephant habitat and preventing conflicts. This polish is also Vegan and Cruelty-free.

Shea Naturals Oil and Massage SerenityBack to AfricaSerenity Massage & Body Oil: This is an awesome blend of sweet almond oil and Shea butter. The Shea butter provides a nourishing layer to dry and damaged skin. I loved the way that it smelled and it did not have an overly “oily” residue. It washed off my hands easily and did not feel like I had an “oil” on my skin. It’s made of sweet almond and Shea butter. It smells of lavender rosemary oils. Proceeds from this help support the a hippo sanctuary in Ghana.
Beauty for a Cause Bath BombReal Beauty for a CauseBath Bomb: I love bath bombs, despite the fact that I do not have a bathtub. I am patiently waiting for the day in which I am able to have a bathtub of my own, but until then I am lucky that I have parents homes 10 miles each direction, and they do have bathtubs. I love the simple ingredients of Epsom salt, baking soda, almond oil, citric acid, and rose and geranium essential oils. I have not used it but can tell you it smells so good. It’s a 100% natural skin care company. Proceeds from these bath bombs go to Connections to Success, an organization to help families realize their dreams and achieve economic independence

Sacral Chakra TeaBuddha TeasCharkra Teas: This is tea based on the 7 root chakras. This is a tea that focuses on the Sacral Chakra Tea – with this tea you will find balance and lessen the need for control. This is a wonderful smelling tea, and was fully steeped within 4 minutes and tasted good. The tea comes in unbleached teabags, contains NO-GMO’s, no MSG, and contains no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives. I loved the packaging, it was bright and I would imagine it would stand out on a store shelf. When I was reviewing the packaging I noticed that it was a local company that manufactures the tea, which was a nice surprise.

Love Rowan Antler NecklaceLove, Rowan -Antler Pendant in Pouch: This supports Antlers for Orphans which was started by Love, Rowan stands for (R) Rural (O) Orphans & (W) widows (A) AIDS (N) network to help fund education for local orphans. This is a super cute necklace that you can wear and feel good that it helped a cause greater than our own fashion sense.

Hemp Hearts SampleHemp Hearts – SAMPLE: This is not the first time that I have tried these Hemp Hearts and each time I enjoy them as much as the time before. Many people like to put pine nuts, sunflower seeds or something with a texture to salads, and I have found hemp hearts are a nice alternative. It’s sustainable and has a rich, nutty flavor with tender crunch. It’s packed with goodness, omegas, digestible proteins, vitamins, minerals, and fiber.
