My Paper Pumpkin October 2015 Kit Review and Giveaway
I have mentioned that I have been personally affected by breast cancer, as most of us have. The moment that you discover somebody you love has breast cancer, is a life changing moment. The life change effects not only the cancer patient but everybody around them.
Jason had his own life changing moment approximately 2 months after we began dating. Jason and I were driving and he received a call from a fellow family member telling him that another close family member had been diagnosed with stage 4 Breast Cancer. Ahead of him was a lot of unanswered questions and a lot of worries – all the while balancing a new relationship and falling in love – a conflict of emotions to say the least.
Due to Jason’s close connection to the breast cancer cause and due to my connection to breast cancer, we support the many breast cancer organizations and awareness agencies. So it goes without saying that I was thrilled with this months My Paper Pumpkin box.
The first thing that I noticed was that the box was not its typical red color, but a bright pink! On the opening flap was the Breast Cancer Pink Ribbon and the words “Together we make a difference”. Also included in this months box was a flyer stating that for every subscriber they donated $1.00 and an additional $1.00 if this was your first month receiving the monthly box to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation,
I had the chance to review My Paper Pumpkin’s kit box’s previous months box (click here). I was excited to be given the chance to review this months box as well. The box for October was called “Blissful Bouquet”.
The idea behind this months kit is that you can make a card for someone who may need a ray of happiness in their life or a up-lifting message.
The 10 by 6.5 size box that it comes in is packed with the items you need to complete the project for the month. Included in this months box was the following:
- Blissful Bouquet Photopolymer Stamp Set
- Basic Grey Classic Stamping Spot Ink
- 9 Card Bases
- 11 Printed Background Papers
- 3 sheets of Die-Cut Accents
- 1 sheet of Gold Accents
- 9 Printed Envelopes
- 8 yards of Vanilla Bakers Twine
- 1 Sheet of Dimensionals
Included with each box is not only written instructions with photos but there is an instructional video available (Online Instructions) to help you complete the project each month.
This months stamp choice can be used for almost any occasion from “Get Well” to “Thinking of You”. The flexibility and versatility with the 12 polymer stamps included makes this kit versatile for cards, scrapbooks or accents on a gift tag.
Included was a stamp pad in Basic Grey – this a grey/pewter color, that adds color coordination to almost any background. Included in the box was also cards in an assortment of different sizes with matching envelopes. There were also 3 sheets of different accents to be stamped on, as well as stickers to add a pop. Also included is vanilla bakers twine, which adds a measure of texture and a pop of texture to the enclosed card projects.
The Blissful Bouquet theme of this month is versatile for almost any occasion in addition to just to letting someone know you are thinking of them.
I am happy to say that almost seven years later, our family member is still with us and healthy! If there was any positive that came out of this tragedy is that everybody loves and appreciates each other just a little but more. I learned so much witnessing this battle with Breast Cancer such as grace under dire circumstances, a constant awareness of those around me and to always check those breasts – do not take anything for granted, life can change in a breath.
My Paper Pumpkin by Stampin’ Up boxes are available for $19.95/month, $59.85/3 months, $113.70/6 months and $215.40/12 months and the shipping is included in the cost.
