One downside for us is that our lil’ pooch doesn’t like 95% of the dogs she comes in contact with, so she sounds worse than the Tasmanian Devil when she comes across one.
For me, the worst thing is that if I am taking a trip that I can’t take the dog, I have to arrange to have someone come and stay at the house with him. He is a doberman trapped in a chihuahua’s body and does not like other dogs at all. Doesn’t like a whole lot of people either. And he will bite. So it takes someone special to come and stay with him.
they sometimes chew things
I love my dogs dearly but sometimes I do have to leave the house without them, and it is very hard finding good care for them. I don’t believe they would do well in a boarding situation so we have to rely on family members for care.
Our Bichon, Tillie, is 15 years old and taking care of an elderly dog is challenging.
My dog goes right back into the dirt after getting a bath, ugh, I hate that lol.
right now we’ve been struggling with ticks they seem to be relentless this year and the Frontline just is not working the way it should, so I guess the cost of meds and finding the right combination that works with our dog is really important.

The only downside is the expense. Well worth it though. 🙂 I can’t imagine life without my best friend.

They do not live as long as we do.
These would be great for my dog, Princess. She’s just getting over the puppy stage, so her breath isn’t quite as fresh as it used to be.

All of the fur!!! I have a lab and a pitweiler and the amount of fur. . I pick up softball size piles twice a day!

Vet bills. I rescue seniors so it can be a lot of money to care for them. I don’t mind the farts.

Sometimes it can be hard to travel.
The downside is having to say goodbye when it comes their time to go.
The only downside is when they pass away because it is so hard.
cleaning up the mess in the backyard. that’s ok …we can over look it…our doggie is so worth the effort. i guess we all have to “go”…LOL

Cleaning up messes, price of food etc sometimes. They are awesome regardless.
