The Brush Naked Bamboo Toothbrush Review

The Brush Naked Bamboo Toothbrush Review and GiveawayBrush Naked

I am always looking for ways to reduce, re-use and recycle. I believe that our planet is in a crisis situation where the landfills are filling with little reprieve. I think that it is important to reduce our carbon footprint as much as we can. There are many different ways that, we as individuals, can accomplish this. From water reduction to buying products that are made of biodegradable materials it is each of our responsibility to leave the earth better then before.

We hear a lot about natural and biodegradable products and materials. These products range from paper to reusable diapers and now toothbrushes. Yes, I said toothbrushes! I was given the opportunity to review The Brush Naked Bamboo Toothbrush Company’s bamboo toothbrushes. After my first brush I think it is safe to say that this is not your parents plastic toothbrush.

Now if you are anything like me, this was the first interaction I have ever had with any type of bamboo product, let alone bamboo toothbrushes. I was curious what inspiration hit the creator to think of bamboo toothbrushes. The answer is really quite simple, and happened when a used plastic toothbrush finally met the end of it’s processed life and the creator thought what a waste it was to simply throw a plastic non-biodegradable product away. Many times these take thousand of years to degrade, therefore leaving a footprint – albeit small- in an already filled landfill. With this simple thought The Brush Naked Bamboo Toothbrush Company was born.

The benefits of bamboo are numerous and impacting. Bamboo is the most sustainable natural resource on this planet and after it is harvested almost the entire plant is used leaving little waste. The Brush Naked Bamboo Toothbrush’s came packed in 100% biodegradable materials that included a box and a white sheath covering the bamboo toothbrush. The reason that the toothbrush includes as much packaging as it does is due to the fact that the brushes are considered medical devices and thus have strict regulations for health and safety packaging.

As I unwrapped my box and opened my toothbrush I was filled with an almost child like curiosity. I was eager to try this new item that would become integrated into my daily routine. I chose a medium bristle brush and found it to be effective and of better quality then the plastic brush counterpart. For a reference point, I used regular Colgate toothpaste and discovered that the usual foam the toothpaste creates was noticeably absent. I noticed that the feeling was different upon the inner cheeks – there was a rougher feeling but not unpleasant. The toothbrush did stay wet and then moist for almost 8 hours after I brushed my teeth. I learned that this is nothing to be concerned about because bamboo naturally is anti-bacterial and anti-microbial.

The brushes come in several colors including pink, green, white and plain bamboo as well as being available in medium and soft bristles for adults and soft bristles for the kids.

I am completely happy with these toothbrushes and they will be replacing the plastic versions we are currently using. The quality combined with the lower environmental impact makes this a easy choice for our environmentally aware household. I would recommend these to any of my family, friends or anyone else who is in the market for a new toothbrush.

I’d love to see ALL styrofoam replaced with bamboo. It’s so sustainable, grows so quickly, and goes back to the earth so easily.

I wish they would make bamboo cleaning tools. The design would be much better than a dark wood or plastic.
