Peaches & Petals Subscription Box: August 2017 Review
With the hustle and bustle of the summer ending and school starting, it is easy to forget to take a moment for ourselves. When I received the August Peaches and Petals box was “Do you, Boo Boo'” which was a great way to remind people to take a moment for themselves.
Socks for Pops – 3 Month Subscription – Sock Club Father’s Day Giveaway – 2017
When I was young one of my favorite things to do was steal my father’s socks. Generally speaking they were larger and much softer then my socks, and inevitably lost in the abyss that was my own sock collection.
Now that I am older I feel the need to attempt to replace all those socks that I stole all those years before. I have found the easiest way to replenish this collection is with a monthly sock subscription.
It also happens that socks make the perfect gift for every father therefore I am thrilled to have the opportunity to give one reader a 3 month subscription to SockClub.
Socks for Spring – 3 Month Subscription – Sock Club Giveaway – 2017
Traditionally spring is know as a time to clean and organize. Each year I take this opportunity to clean and prepare. I my systems of organization. One task that I take on each year is my closet, and the items contained therein. Most of the items that hang are easy, since I turn hangers the opposite direction and if at the time of cleaning, I have not worn then I know with just a glance.
The most difficult is my sock collection, since I tend to stop matching pairs sometime mid September. The process is easy for the most part and involves me putting the sock on the bed, and searching for it’s mate. The best part about this is that I generally am able to combine pairs and find socks that I have not worn in a while.
Since we all like an easier way to get matched socks minus the cleaning, I am thrilled to have the opportunity to give one reader a 3 month subscription to SockClub
Peaches & Petals Subscription Box – January 2017 Review
There is funny thing that happens, when the calendar switches over to the new year, it is almost as if the reset button has been hit. There is a general feeling that with the new year comes new opportunities to try something new, engage in a new hobby or changing entire habits.
While I have the best intentions each new year I have little ability to carry through with resolutions much longer than the first month of the year. The one thing that the new year can do is bring new opportunities and new surprises, which is my resolution for the new year.
One of the best surprises that I have discovered are monthly subscription boxes. Since the theme for the January Peaches and Petals boxes was “2017 Brings New Surprises” it seemed very timely and appropriate for my outlook on 2017. Each items are appropriate, and useful while constantly remaining in theme.
Monthly Mystery Box of Awesome – December 2016 Review
Now that the holidays are wrapping up and a new year dawns, I am reflective of the year past. At the end of the year I try to summarize my accomplishments, note my failures and set new goals for the year ahead.
One of my goals in the coming year is to pay it forward. I find that simple actions of kindness are becoming less common. As time goes on and if we do not keep this movement going, then generations below us will lose that common kindness. So this coming year, I am going to share my good fortune and when I receive items in boxes I am not going to use and pay it forward.
Each month when I receive the Monthly Mystery Box of Awesome by That Daily Deal.com I think of those moments of kindness that can be paid forward. Each month no theme is chosen, but rather a selection of random gender neutral items that will undoubtedly meet a need of yours or a lucky recipient.
Feet Need Love Too – Valentine’s Day 2017 – Sock Club Giveaway
As we approach Valentine’s Day, it becomes a day of panic for many people. Gifts can be hard to purchase if you are in a new relationship or a seasoned 20 year relationship. I am a strong believer that these sometimes the simplest gift can be the most meaningful. Since I spend so much time in the house, it is a rare day that I wear shows. On the rare occasion I venture beyond my home, I make sure my socks are decorative.
I have mentioned that each time we are out and I see a new sock, I want to buy the socks despite my collection being larger than I can properly store. As I have mentioned in the past one of my favorite pairs that I have is a red and grey wool sock that I received last year.
Since I am a big believer that feet need love too during this universal day of love, I am thrilled to have the opportunity to give one reader a 3 month subscription to SockClub
Start the New Year on the Right Foot – Sock Club Giveaway
Since I spend so much time on the couch and at my desk I rarely wear shoes around the house. The one item I do wear every day is socks!
Each time we are out and I see a new sock, my instinct is to pull the trigger and buy the socks despite my collection being larger than most small countries. My favorites are socks that are not only comfortable, but also incorporate color and a pattern in a creative eye-catching way.
One of my favorite pairs that I have is a red and grey wool sock that I received from SockClub last year at this time. It is for that reason that I am excited about the Start The New Year on the Right Foot Giveaway.
Peaches & Petals Subscription Box – September 2016 Review
The concept of cute and I have never been something that fit together. I never considered things “cute” by societies standards and while that made me a little different from my peers, it also made me unique.
I believe that uniqueness is a quality that many young people are losing. People seem to be more concerned with going with the crowd rather than celebrating what makes them unique. There are many ways to be cute, while keeping your own individuality.
When I saw the September Peaches and Petals box I was happy to see a box that celebrates the concept of uniqueness. The boxes contents all revolve around the “Cuteness Overload” theme and are appropriate, and useful while always remaining in theme.
BuddhiBox Monthly Subscription Review and Book Giveaway – May 2016 Box
As we embark in this election year it is becoming clear that the country is divided and needs some injection of peace and love. Every night on the news all that is seen are rally’s that turn into protests and protests that turn into arrest records.
The common thread is that the one thing we need the most, is the one thing that all yogi;s know, we need peace. There are a couple of ways to achieve peace but the easiest is to be what you want to put out into the world. I think many people forget that to be nice is not difficult and the simplest thing we can do.
Each month when I receive my monthly BuddhiBox I am reminded of this simple message. Each month I have the opportunity to review boxes (click here to see the previous reviews) and each month I can expect a nice introduction in the yoga/healthy living lifestyle. The message is always one of compassion, and understanding and living a pure life, as well as being the company’s motto.
This month continues the new box and is strong and sturdy box that is printed on all box sides. I loved that a green crinkle wrap replaced the green tissue paper, but still retained the green theme. This month came with 3 cardboard information cards that are in full color and on thick glossy card stock. The first card was the Yoga pose of “Balasana” that shows the pose in full color, as well as the benefits and directions about the pose. These pose cards are made especially for BuddhiBox by a company called Yogicards. There is a recipe for a “Strawberries Fruit of Spirit and Health” that is made using 6 ingredients The final information card included was a box manifest and on the other side the following quote:
Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage. – Lao Tzu
Sock Club – December 2015 – Review & Giveaway
When you think of California, the first material that comes to mind is generally not wool. People in California tend to live in shorts, bikini tops. and flip-flops – and that is in mid-December. I am not one of these people, as I run cold all the time. I get cold while going through our local grocery store. Since I have this temperature issue, I plan accordingly – I have sweaters in the car and I always wear socks around my house at night.
Despite the warmth factor, I tend to shy away from wool due to the added weight that wool sock provide. I can honestly say that my opinion of wool socks has forever been changed from this months SockClub sock selection for the December sock.
