Each day my husband wakes up, says goodbye to the cats and goes to an office for a minimum of 8 hours a day. On the other hand my office is my house, my co-workers have 4 legs and are much furrier than most other co-workers.
Since I am home based my “daily essentials” amount to water, a pillow for my back and a good flow of music on the background. When I received the “Purrfect Daily Essentials” themed Cat Lady Box this month, I knew that they must have known the things I needed for my “purrfect” daily essentials needs. Continue reading →
Pura Naturals Pet: Calming Lavender and Tearless and Calming Shampoo Review + Giveaway
If there is one truth in my world, it is that I tend to be over protective of my cats. As far as I am concerned my pets are family and as such I am very protective of any product that goes on their bodies, or in their bodies.
I feel as though it is my job as their guardian is to provide the best possible life for them, while giving them everything that they need.
Given the fact that I have such a concern about what my cats are exposed to I am always looking for natural and organic products. When I heard that Pura Naturals Pet was expanding their product line to include 2 new products for cats I was curious.
There are many things that pull at my attention throughout the day, the largest being the cats. When I say “the cats” really i mean Maggee. There is nothing that Maggee loves more than attention, and she will take it anytime and anyway she can.
One of her favorite things is to sit on our laps, with paw on the chest and head in prime position to bump into the chins of the humans.
I love this time with her and encourage it more than I probably should. A couple of months ago I started seeing a sweater for cat lovers called the KittyRoo Sweatshirt, Many friends had shared this with me, and after a couple of months, thought it time I get one for review.
We have two cats, and with that two different personalities. One cat, Murfee, started his life very full of life and has he has gotten older (he is will be 5 in August of this year), there is notable slow down in high activity levels.
On the other hand, our other cat Maggee is full of life and full of playtime any time of day. There is literally never a time when she does not want to play, and it usually at full throttle.
When I recently was given an opportunity to review the Bright Bopper LED Light-Up Cat Toy, I was hoping the previous toy loving Murfee and always up for playtime Maggee would enjoy it.

There are no doubts that I am a fan of my pets! For as long as I can remember I have wanted to dress the cats up. I attempted to make Maggee a Ladybug costume this past Halloween, and I always use a cute hat for Murfee, but this it mostly because I have not found the perfect costume, until now!
John Paul Pet: Tea Tree Shampoo and Conditioning Spray Review + Giveaway
A couple of months ago I noticed that Murfee had some white flakes as we brushed his tail, which was not a new issue as we had encountered this same issue with Maggee. Being the ever diligent cat owners we looked online for solutions. After what seemed like hours of reading we came to the conclusion that he, like his sister, has dry skin.
As luck would have it, shortly after I discovered this issue, I had the opportunity to review another John Paul Pet Duo. Since I had heard great things about the natural benefits of tea tree, I wanted to go a natural way to solve this persistence flake issue.Continue reading →
Our cats are indoor cats, and as far as we can tell they are happy with this decision that we have made for them.
The reason that we made this decision was as selfish for ourselves as it was selfish for them. When we adopted them we debated making them indoor/outdoor cats, but since we live on a major road, if they happen to make their way out it could end deadly for them. For this reason, and about a million more, they are now happy indoor house cats. Since they live their life in the confines of our home it is important to both of us that we give them the most stimulating and full life humanly possible.
Back when I first started reviewing cat toys I came across a company called Petstages that has a complete line of toys for cats (and dogs). The thing that we loved about these toys is that they stimulate the cats mind, as well as their reward system that keeps them hunting and playing, all while providing exercise in a safe environment that we control.
Murfee is a unique cat in many ways, but mostly because he is hot and cold when it comes to the things he likes. In most situations this does not bother us, and honestly we have become quite accustom to it and even find humor among the chaos of his ever changing mood.
The one thing that Murfee has loved since he was a kitten and has stayed constant about is catnip. There is something about this grown plant that he loves, and most days can garner a flicker of interest.
When I recently was doing searches about growing our own catnip I came across a company called Meowijuana, I was immediately interested since I love a good play on words.
Cat Lady Box Monthly Subscription – “Cozy & Comfy” – January 2017 – Review + Giveaway
Early in our cat guardian life, we realized that our cats were going to miss out on sleeping on our beds at night. Due to the layout of our house, there is a clear path from our living room to the bedroom. If we keep the bedroom door open, they run and use our (Jason’s) legs to vault themselves ahead of each other.
Recently we have begun to let our girl cat, Maggee, in the room the last couple hours of the sleep cycle. Most days she hunkers down by my legs and falls asleep. The other day, we discovered that a soon as the humans sleep she explores the closet. We had set some water bottles on the edge of our elevated closet, and when we woke, one bottle was on the floor – not where we left it.
There is confession that needs to be made – we have a problem cat. Our boy Murfee is a handful and a half – for more than one reason.
We adopted Murfee at 9 weeks old from the local Humane Society. We originally adopted him because the other cat in our house was rough playing with us and we read that getting them a buddy can break this behavior. From the moment we brought Murfee home he has been the opposite of a sleeper – he is awake 20+ hours a day!
We have given this thought and consideration, and we think it is a simple reason – he does not want to miss any excitement in his house. I know this sounds silly, but 4+ years later we still are left with more questions than answers.
This leaves many hours, while his sister Maggee sleeps, we look for answers. There is one ruling criteria for products we use – no medicines or doctor prescribed remedies. Since we have heard positive things about diffusers I was eager to try Pet Remedy’s Diffuser and Spray.
