One of the things that I love about coloring books is that they give you the ability to escape and visit places you may otherwise not see. Since I am such a fan of coloring, when I was approached by Green Frog Publishing to review their Hybird Adult Coloring Books, I was intrigued with such titles as “Where We Live” and “National Parks of the UK and Ireland”.

Free National Parks Entrance Feb. 14-16

Celebrate Presidents’ Day weekend with free entrance to the National Parks from February 14-16. More than 100 national parks that usually charge admission will be free on this day. Did you know that 268 of the 401 national parks NEVER charge an entrance fee? Click here for that list.

If you are active duty military, you and your dependents qualify for the FREE Annual Pass program America the Beautiful National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass.

Here are the other free entrance days this year!

  • April 18-19: opening weekend of National Park Week
  • August 25: National Park Service Birthday
  • September 26: National Public Lands Day
  • November 11: Veterans Day

Only 133 of our country’s 405 national parks usually charge an entrance fee.

If you’re planning a trip that includes multiple national parks, you might consider the $80 annual pass that provides entrance to all national parks, national wildlife refuges, national forests, and many other Federal lands-more than 2,000 in all. The America the Beautiful National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass is offered free to all active duty military members and their dependents. Information on these and other pass options is available online.
