Hartz: Delectables SqueezeUp Cat Treats Review

Spending Quality Time With Maggee and Delectables SqueezeUp Cat Treats + A Giveaway

Since the day that we adopted Maggee she has been giving us pieces of her personality. Prior to us adopting her she was shuttled from home to home and having kittens in between. When we adopted her we knew her history, and so we set out to not only be her last home but also her best home. We began to work with her on being held, and while frustrating at times, that seemed to be the key to her opening up.

It started with us holding her in the middle of the floor, where she had no out to jump down. Within less than a month, she was loving being held and began to seek it out. Flash forward 5 years later, being held is a vital part of her day, and she actively seeks out that love.

Now there are numerous things she has began to love, and spending time bonding with her humans is high on her list, as is food. If I can combine the two, she is in cat heaven. When we recently received the Hartz: Delectables SqueezeUp Cat Treats I knew that I could use it as a bonding opportunity with a treat.

Newmans Own Pet Food – Cat Giveaway

Treat Your Pet While The Kids Are Away With a Cat Sampler Giveaway

As many cat owners know, cats can be finicky and picky about the things they eat, despite what their humans want.

In our home we have one finicky cat, and one cat that will eat anything that we put in front of her. Since she is easy to feed, the true challenge sits with Murfee and his eating habits. The one food that both cats agree on is Newman’s Pet Food, for that reason I am thrilled to give one reader a sampler pack in either cat or dog variety.

An Introduction to I and Love and You

An Introduction to I and Love and You + A Giveaway

When I was young I thought that I would grow up and be a veterinarian. The biggest problem with this lofty plan was I could not stand to see an animal in any distress. Once the animal showed signs of pain, panic or discontent, I would react with tears and sympathy in abundance.

As a pet owner now I look for I look for companies that support the causes I believe in such as shelter adoption. The best is companies that also support animal welfare organizations and advocate for healthy and nutritious food options and in my searching I came upon I and Love and You.

John Paul Pet: Tea Tree Shampoo + Conditioning Spray Review

John Paul Pet: Tea Tree Shampoo and Conditioning Spray Review + Giveaway

A couple of months ago I noticed that Murfee had some white flakes as we brushed his tail, which was not a new issue as we had encountered this same issue with Maggee. Being the ever diligent cat owners we looked online for solutions. After what seemed like hours of reading we came to the conclusion that he, like his sister, has dry skin.

As luck would have it, shortly after I discovered this issue, I had the opportunity to review another John Paul Pet Duo. Since I had heard great things about the natural benefits of tea tree, I wanted to go a natural way to solve this persistence flake issue. Continue reading

Newman’s Own Valentine’s Pet Sampler Giveaway

Love Your Pet This Valentine’s Day – Newman’s Pet Food Sampler Giveaway

newmans-sampler-packAs the calendar days pass, the new years worth of holidays and celebrations have begun. One of the first holidays is the upcoming Valentines Day.

Each year when Valentines Day rolls around, I wonder the same thing each – why is there only one day to tell those we love that we love them. I think we should tell those we love that we love them everyday! This generalization also applies to the animals in our life, we should love them each day and not only on a day in February.

A simple way that we show our cats love each day is by the food selections that we make! With that spirit of love, I am thrilled to give one reader a Newman’s Pet Food Sampler in either cat or dog variety.

Treat Your Pet with Newman’s Own Giveaway

Treat Your Pet with Newman’s Own Organic Pet Food Giveaway

newmans-sampler-packI have a confession, I get Christmas gifts for my pets. I generally wrap them and put them under the tree. When it is time to open the gifts, I let the cats sniff the gift and paw at it. Once it is time to open I pry the corner open and let them attack it. More often than not they are far more interested in the paper and the accompanying crinkle. While this provides my husband and myself a laugh, inevitably the cat walks away to ignore us.

Cats are notoriously ambivalent about everything including gifts, their surroundings and most of all – their humans. There is one time when I am able to get my cats entire attention is when I have dry or wet food. When ever I crack a can open they come running –  that is why I am thrilled to be able to have another Newman’s Own Pet Food giveaway.

John Paul Pet Shampoo and Conditioning Spray Review

John Paul Pet: Pet Shampoo and Conditioning Spray Review and Giveaway

shampoo-and-spray-conditionerI have a confession – I love to brush Maggee. When we adopted her, one of our first priorities was to acclimate her to brushing. This was useless since she took to brushing like a duck to water and loved to be brushed.

A couple of months ago I noticed that she had some white flakes as we brushed her tail. Being the ever diligent cat owners we looked online. After what seemed like hours of reading we came to the conclusion that she has dry skin.

While I was researching this issue I discovered the easiest thing to do was give her a bath. When I received two bottles from John Paul Pet I knew that a feline bath was in her future. Continue reading

Purr Packs Monthly Subscription Box – September 2016

Purr Packs Monthly Subscription Box – “Septempurr” – September 2016 – Review

septempurr-purr-packs-box-contentsWe are the proud humans to two cats, both of them adopted as kittens from the local shelter. Murfee was first and he started his life with us at a mere 9 weeks old. He was the runt of the litter, found in an open field when he was a couple of days old with no mom or siblings in the area. How he got there and how he survived, as well as found is a mystery to us. Maggee entered our lives when she was a 9 months old, after she had been shuttled from home to home while pregnant.

Our two have been raised together and despite our best efforts are not the “bff’s” we had hoped, although this is not to say they don’t get along, it is just obvious they are not best friends. They are different, and each one has their own likes, own food loves (Murfee loves dairy based treats and Maggee loves everything else!)

There is one time a month that they put aside their differences and join together as the friends we had always hoped – when they get a box curated to them! When I recently got a Purr Packs Monthly Subscription Box these differences were put aside.

Newmans Own Organic Cat Food Review

Newman’s Own Organic: Wet and Dry Cat Food Review and Giveaway

maggee-contiplating-her-newmans-own-choicesSince I have adopted cats I have learned a lot about the feline species. One of the biggest things I have learned is about their taste buds.

Often we make strawberries with fresh whipped cream on the top and every time I make whipped cream my girl Maggee wakes up out of her slumber and stands at full attention. Each time she does this I immediately give her some cream. She is usually done after a couple licks, and back to sleep she goes. Until recently I was under the belief she loved my whipped cream, and as it turns out cats can not taste sugar and sweet, it must have been the plain cream she loves. My other cat, Murfee has no interest in this creamy treat and tuns his nose up on such indulgences.

To say the least we have two different eaters in our house, which makes finding a cat food that both animals like can be a challenge at times. I have taken it on as a challenge of sorts – can I find a list of foods that both cats will love. Recently i reviewed Newman’s Own Organic food and loved it, and when I found out they had a line of pet food under the label Newman’s Own Pet Food knew I had to let the two cats try it.
