SOL: Sustained Organic Living Organic Cotton Sheets Review

SOL: Sustained Organic Living Organic Cotton Sheets Review + Giveaway

Each 24 hour period, we take time to rest and recharge our batteries by sleeping. Our bodies use this time to rest, and replenish it’s resources, and helps fight off illnesses – sleep is important.

As I have aged I have began to appreciate the hours of sleep I get at night. I have learned that the more comfortable my sheets are, the more comfortable I tend to be. When I recently came across SOL Organics and saw their organic sheet set I was interested to see if this would improve my quality of sleep.

The products featured in this post were provided to me free of charge courtesy of SOL Organics. This post may have affiliate links but this in no way will influence the review to follow and all opinions are my own.

I received a set of Queen 300 thread count Hemmed Sheet Set in blue from SOL: Sustained Organic Living. The measurements were 100″ x 104″ for the flat sheet, 60″ x 80″ x 18″ for the fitted sheet and the 2 pillow cases are 31″ x 21″ in size.

SOL sells fair trade and organic sheet sets and bedding, and uses only natural, untreated cotton. This is notable because much of the cotton in other sheet sets is genetically modified (GMO) cotton and therefore not pure cotton, since they are made in a lab. The methods that SOL uses of growing the cotton seeds, in addition to tending to them and collecting them for their products are done ethically and do not harm our environment. Each step in the supply chain is Free Trade Certified.

Each of SOL products are:

  • Grown without any synthetic agricultural fertilizers or pesticides.
  • Never uses genetically modified seeds.
  • Conserves soil though crop rotation.
  • Retains water more efficiently due to increased organic matter in the soil.
  • Controls weeds through physical removal rather than chemical destruction.
  • Controls insects by maintaining a balance between โ€œpestsโ€ & their natural predators.

The sheet set was easy to remove from the bag, and is easy to put on my bed. I am eager to wash these since I know that with a couple laundry runs they will become softer then they already are. Since I am used to lower thread count sheets, these higher thread count sheets are quite an upgrade and so much softer.

One detail that did not go unnoticed by me was the fact that once the sheet set was removed from the bag it came it, the bag could be used as sheet storage or acute lightweight bag. The size is perfect if you are running to the store for smaller items, and has the bonus of being very soft.

Also sent to me were two of the soy wax candles that they carry, which smelled good and burned clean. My favorite was the Reflection which was a combination of lavender and blood orange. The second scent was Evening Peace which was a combination of french and Bulgarian lavender and smelled equally good to the previous one.

As an added bonus donates $7.50 to the charity you nominate with your purchase from their site. They partner with Children’s Defense Fund – which works to ending child poverty,ย Water4 – providing water, Hope for Justice – ending slavery, The Fund for Animals – works to save animals, Autism Society – improving lives of people with Autism, and Smile Network – giving smiles to people who otherwise do not have them.

Since quality of sleep is vital to me these days, I am happy that these sheets are soft and easy to launder. If you are looking for a new sheet set, I would say go ahead and splurge on these – you will not regret it.

I usually drink something hot or eat some soup before I go to bed. I like to have something warm in my belly because it helps me go to sleep.

I watch a little tv, brush my teeth, moisturize (again) and turn on a fan for the noise blocking factor. These sound nice!

I brush my teeth, wash my face, get in my massage chair & listen to the 11pm news. Then I turn on my fan year round so I can go to sleep.

I usually sit in my favorite chair and watch old shows on tv while my birds sits on my shoulder. When I get tired I put my bird up and just go to bed. I do this every night.

I read. When I have trouble sleeping, reading relaxes me. When I am already sleepy, I’m lucky to read two pages lol

One of the things I do before going to bed is let the dogs out for the night. I also have a glass of water, turn the heat down a bit, and brush and floss my teeth.

I usually read and let one of the cats lay on my shoulder. I suspect he can read too, but I am not positive. He likely can but doesnt want to translate to the other cats.
