My Paper Pumpkin September 2015 Kit Review and Giveaway

My Paper Pumpkin September 2015If we like it or not, time is marching on and the fall holidays are approaching. The kick off to the fall holiday season for many people is Halloween. I love this time of year, and I used to dress up accordingly. I learned last night that many of us kids of the 1980’s had a “go-to” costume. The one that I choose each year to fall back to was a “witch” and as it turns out Jason;s was a “vampire”. There is something about knowing what your costume is and the preparation needed.

In the spirit of witched and vampires of days past began thinking. Recently we have had a turn over of neighbors and this is the first holiday season, I was thinking of candied apples and was wondering how I would package these and when I received this months My Paper Pumpkin Kit I knew I had found my solution.

I had the chance to review My Paper Pumpkin’s kit box’s previous months box (click here). I was thrilled to be given the chance to review this months box as well. The theme for September was called “Wickedly Sweet Treat”.

The products featured in this post were provided to me free of charge courtesy of My Paper Pumpkin/Stamping Up, but this in no way will influence the review to follow and all opinions are my own.

The idea of this months kit is that you can pack a small gift, a candied apple or even a handful of candy in the bag. Once the fringe is added and tied at the top the package takes on a circular look and can conceal the identity of the contents.

The 10 by 6.5 size box that it comes in is packed with the items you need to complete the project for the month. Included in this months box was the following:

Contents of September 2015 My Paper PumpkinIncluded with each box is not only written instructions with photos but there is an instructional video available (online) to help you complete the project each month.

Stampin up Stamp and InkThis months stamp choice can be used for a Halloween, Thanksgiving and even with some creativity Christmas. The flexibility and versatility with the 15 polymer stamps included makes this kit usable for all the upcoming occasions and beyond.

Included was a stamp pad in Cajun Craze – a very bright and deep orange color, in combination with the paper and the stamps. The Kraft bags are the perfect size for a candied apple and the Kraft fringe gives the package a circular feeling. This kit also comes with black and white straws and an assortment of white tags with a striped background that can be stamped on. Also included is orange bakers twine and raffia, which add a pop of texture to the enclosed projects.

September Finshed ProjectThe Wickedly Sweet Treat theme of this month is not only timely, but versatile to take to a party – housewarming gift or perfect for that special trick or treater in your life!

My Paper Pumpkin by Stampin’ Up boxes are available for $19.95/month, $59.85/3 months, $113.70/6 months and $215.40/12 months and the shipping is included in the cost. The 6-month is a total savings of about $6, about a $1 a month savings and the 12-month is total savings of about $24, about a $2 a month savings thus ends up totaling the amount of receiving one kit free.

I usually do fall crafts that I can leave out through November. On Halloween, we hand out candy and dress up the little ones to trick-or-treat.
