My favorite costume growing up was a robot costume I made one year out of cardboard boxes and plastic tubes. It had battery-powered lights on the front, and a slot that opened to insert the candy. The eyes were made from cardboard tubes, so it was a bit difficult to see where I was going, but everyone was quite impressed with my creativity. Thank you for the chance to win.

I’ll be honest my Mother is,from Germany and she really had no clue about Halloween so I relied usually on my relatives. The one year she helped me was my favorite. I was about 12 and if course I wasn’t allowed to wear makeup but, when I said I wanted to be a princess she really went all out. She had me the prettiest dress and not a store bought costume one. She put make up on me. I remember looking in the mirror and at the age of 53 I still remember thinking wow that person in the mirror is beautiful. I never saw myself as pretty so that alone is one of my favorite memories . Thank you for taking me back in time 🙂

  31. Kirsten K

My mom always dressed me as a Pumpkin when I was little. Looking back now, that was probably one of my favorites! 🙂

We didn’t have much money so we never bought costumes. My favorite was being a hobo. I’d put on a big flannel shirt with overalls and have a stick with a bag on the end of it filled with some sort of material to make it look full.

  33. Leah Shumack

The year I went as a hunter! A couple of stuffed animals and some camo and I was good to go – plus side I was warm the whole night!

  34. Nicole Lancaster

My favorite Halloween costume growing up was Strawberry Shortcake. Handmade by my mother.
